SBS has to be a forest root but can have as many members as you want.
Yes, it was even sold in a premium package that included a standard server license and a SQL license to install on an second box.

You will use robo copy more than one time. This can all be done at anytime:
- Turn up your new server
- Copy files with robocopy
- Go to Share management and add share permissions
- test shares
Now wait until maintenance window
- rerun robocopy to get changes
- change logon scripts
- disable sharing on old server
- force all workstations to reboot
Old server should still be online for YOU to get data from, but all users should now be on new file server.

RE: HP EliteDesk 800 G1 Mini
@Dashrender I can't argue that.
This is what we rolled out last fall at the client I am at today.

Does Veeam support single email level restores in Exchange? Have you ever done it?
Definitely supports this, but depends on the version you have purchased I believe. I have not done it.

So, say:
VM1: Domain/DNS
VM2: File Server/Web Services/Print Server/Backup Services/Anti-Virus SuiteHow much memory for the VM2 would you suggest then for VM2?
I would start with 4

This is also an Elite machine with the higher support level.
The PDF did say it had the support bundled in. That is not normal and has to be added for standard build machines.

And these suggestions are even when I allow my DC to be my file server/DNS and also being my anti-virus and backup program host?
I have SBS 2008 in Hyper-V and VMWare as well as SBS 2011 in VMWare at various clients. They all have 2 vProcs and 8GB of vRAM assigned to them. If I was not using Exchange on those boxes I would cut it down to 4GB of vRAM.

My virtual DC is just 2 cores (EDIT: it is actually only one core) and 3GB RAM and that might be overpowered. I've decided to not join my VMware hosts to Active Directory so I can connect to them in an unfortunate event when all DCs may be unavailable. I only have 3, so not really a big deal.
You realize that you still have access with the local users to VMWare if needed.

RE: What's He using?
@scottalanmiller aye, I should have quoted instead of just replying. I meant that it was certainly just a skin of an existing PBX

RE: Is the main screen supposed to scroll like this?
Notice the page title and the title in the blue header bar do not match in addition to the page never completing the load.

Tried Chrome on my iPhone 5s and it is the same as Safari there.
My understanding of chrome on iOS is that it is basically just a skinned iOS Safari. Never looked into if that is true or not.
That said, I been using the iPad all morning at home office no problem. Now I am tethered to my iPhone and getting issues again.

@scottalanmiller Same here. Don't mind a classic JRPG once in a while though.
I loved the Dragon Warrior (Dragon Quest in Japan) series (1 to 4 or 5) back on my NES. Then I left the console realm and never really played the series again. I keep meaning to buy the ones I can for other platforms now, just haven't.

Working via the HCL can save a lot of time versus finding out later that drivers are not available.
That is a given, but when you are wanting to spin up a lab on old gear just for testing, the HCL is not something I even think ot look at unless something does not work. Instead I just install it first. It is alab setup, it is not expected to be production quality.

RE: Can anyone point me to a good reference for SPF records
@scottalanmiller said:
No, SPF and TXT are two different record types.
But SPF is being obsoleted.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_DNS_record_types uses a source document here: http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-ietf-spfbis-4408bis-21 and section 3 basically states the SPF was never implmented well. -

Hubtech - your server is a DL 360, not a DL 380.
@Hubtech said:
I just set two dl360 g5's with 5.5 why can't you lab with the 380s?
I probably can, but the HCL does not support 5.5 on the DL 380 G5. G6 sure, but not the G5.
If it is a lab, why do you care about the HCL?

When using my iPad tethered to my iPhone for Internet I have seen a lot of odd behavior. I mark it up to poor LTE performance.
Yes. Extremely slow on my iPhone. I believe it has to do with how Safari handles web sockets.
I was using my iPad tethered for internet through my iPhone. When at home on WiFi those issues go away.
