ever since @ajstringham mentioned setting up a business version to use for all his family and such, I've been thinking about doing that myself.
edit: or was it @aaron-studer that said that?

RE: How does DirectAccess compare to Pertino
@krisleslie said:
Scott: This goes back to our discussion we had at Pertino. I want it on my router (DD-WRT / Linux Based) make it happen. I recall you guys were ranting about the even crazier use cases for installing pertino on other devices than just the pcs and mobile. Support gave me a link to install the pertino client to my linux machine
I haven't tried it yet but sounds promising.
Putting Pertino on a device as a gateway is a completely different security and business model. I know they are working on it, and @josh said that they actually had it implemented once in testing but there was no way to secure what was past the gateway.
So you put it in gateway mode on a laptop and take the laptop to Starbucks. Everyone on the wifi is now able to access your network.
Yeah that is a stupid admin that sets it up, but when you are trying to sell security, you need to think about that kind of thing.
Side note, don't use ddwrt in the first place.

RE: Cabbies Mad in Sacremento over Hygiene Requirement?
@scottalanmiller Cabs at the airport are regulated. They have to apply for and obtain stupidly priced permits. Again it is over regulation.
-
RE: Cabbies Mad in Sacremento over Hygiene Requirement?
The entire taxi industry is already over regulated, this is excessive to me. This is why the industry is so rock hard against the ride share apps.

RE: HTS's Lab in Progress
@hubtech are you prepending the 1? You can do it either in the Trunk or the outbound route.

RE: Is This Really Discrimination? #USEDUCATIONSYSTEMFAIL
@Bill-Kindle A public institution such as a school has no right to ban a language from being spoken. They can require that classes be taught in a specific language, but you cannot tell me that I may not speak another language in the hallways to a friend. That is a discrimination against the students based on their ethnic heritage.

That's awesome that it might go in down there. Now if NY could get something like that.
What? FiOS doesn't do it for you?

RE: Small Business Server 2003 to 2012 R2 Migration and Virtualized Domain Controller Questions
Correct you can do everything except the demote/promote parts. The new servers should be joined to the domain as member servers. There is no restriction on member servers.

RE: HTS's Lab in Progress
Check the FreePBX status screen or the Elastix status screen and make sure the trunk really is connected.

RE: Infinite scroll is a bit painful
@scottalanmiller said:
Yes, it does. If, when selecting a thread to go to, if you click the "posted" button it will take you directly to the bottom. Or, if you go into your personal settings, you can turn off the infinite scroll and opt for pagination instead.
I was hoping to avoid turning on pagination. Nothing takes you directly to the bottom until after the page loads, so that does not help the load time. I generally navigate by clicking on the "replied" link by the name of the person that last replied. It takes you to the page, but you have to stare at the loading notice until the page loads and then it dumps you to the bottom.

Infinite scroll is a bit painful
Once a topic gets longer, infinite scroll makes load times horrible.

Just further solidifies how disconnected from their customers they are and how little they listen to feedback.
You are thinking of their users, not their customers. That is the problem.

@ambarishrh Article has a couple good points—
- Standing is being treated as the new smoking
- Adjustable desks are good to allow one to sit when tired
I also liked the bit about they felt the more abstract work was better done sitting. Would be interesting to see a more scientific test done for longer than a week.
