Looking to replace an older HP Laserjet p4015. Any recommendations on a brand/make/model that is dependable and requires little maintenance. Printing black and white only, up to 5,000 pages a month. Need at least two 500 page trays.

Distributing documents
Looking for recommendations on software that would allow me to distribute pdf and other electronic documents to external users via a web portal by either providing them a password or secure one-time download link. Requirements would be to track if they have viewed the document and downloaded it and also possibly limiting the number of views or downloads to a certain number. A plus but not a requirement would be to tie some sort of payment capture mechanism that would automate the release of the document once payment has been received. Open source would be great, but also considering hosted services.

Windows 10 Home > Pro upgrade via MS Store
Had a user purchase Windows 10 Pro upgrade through the MS Store so no key was given. We recently did a fresh install and the computer shows Home, I logged the user in with the same account that was used to purchase the upgrade but still will not upgrade to Pro. Anyone else run into this issue and how to resolve?

RE: What are you using for Documentation?
Confluence is a pretty good solution. You can have it hosted or self-host. Cost is minimal for up to 10 users. Has a rich feature set including individual permissions, exporting to PDF and Word, creating templates, easy attachment, and image handling, etc.

Journaling in Office 365
Does anyone have any experience with using journal rules in Office 365? My specific question is can I have two different journal rules (destinations) based on the email address of a user or is it tied to the mailbox.
For example, I have 4 users each with [email protected] and an alias of [email protected]. Could I have two separate journal rules for domain.com going to one destination and domain2.com going to another destination? In other words, having two separate journal rules based on the email domain.

RE: HDD tetris...
@scottalanmiller Correct. Small 1u case. Thanks for the replies.

RE: HDD tetris...
@scottalanmiller Thank you for the thoughts. The case limits me to 4 physical 2.5" drives or (2) 3.5" drives. Any recommendations on a SSDs for 24/7 use?

HDD tetris...
Looking for recommendations on getting the best disk performance out of a SUPERMICRO SYS-5018D-MF. The server case can only hold two 3.5" or four 2.5" drives. Mobo has x2 Sata3 ports and x4 Sata2 ports. I need about 1TB of usable storage total. The use case is a general fileserver for about 10 users but it also will be running the Ubnt NVR as a separate vm so I wanted to optimize for disk writes.
I was thinking about going with (4) 2.5" drives in a RAID 10. Any thoughts on a better configuration? -
RE: Desktop photo for all PC's in the domain
Thank you for the help. By posting the screenshots, I realized I had a typo in the file extension. .png vs .jpg
Once I double checked them all it now works. -
RE: Desktop photo for all PC's in the domain
@kelly I noticed that once I exported the gpresult. I had since removed it but it didn't change anything. I made sure to run gpupdate and even rebooted a few times. Still shows a black background, however, the correct file is selected in the "personalize" menu to manually set the background.

@kelly Here is the gpresult.html

RE: Desktop photo for all PC's in the domain
I have a similar issue. Followed the directions and ensure the gpo's get applied. I can verify the file gets copied down locally and the policy is applied to set it as the wallpaper, however, the wallpaper shown on all pc's is just a blank black screen. If I go into personalize to set it manually the correct local file is set but just does not show up.
Windows 2012 R2
Windows 7 pro and Windows 10 pro both exhibit the same behaviors. -
RE: HP Probook 430 G1 battery drain
If it does I don't use it. When I shut it down I throw it in a bag to be used in a day or two, there is nothing connected to it. Just to be safe I ensured the USB hub's listed in device manager has the "allow the computer to turn off to save power" settings were checked.

HP Probook 430 G1 battery drain
Weird issue here, I have an HP Probook 430 G1 with an aftermarket battery. The battery holds a charge for what I think is a good amount of time, about 4-6 hours while I am using the laptop. The issue is once I shut down the computer. If I leave the battery in the laptop it will completely drain the battery. However, if I pull the battery out I can plug it back in a week later and the battery is still full and I get the full 4-6 hours out of it. I have verified that I am actually shutting down the pc, not sleep or hibernate. Anyone else have a similar issue or heard of such an issue?

RE: All Yealink Phones Down at One Site
Factory reset a phone and try manually programming? How about a packet capture at the site firewall, do you see attempts from that IP phone to where? I am assuming that the PBX is hosted elsewhere.

RE: Anybody use Confluence for their project management/todos?
@guyinpv Sorry, I overlooked the project management part of your post. When I read todos I immediately thought a simple bulleted list of items to do thus the simplicity of BookStack. With that said, Confluence is stronger in that category. I don't use it for that but I see a lot of mention about it in their documentation.

RE: Anybody use Confluence for their project management/todos?
I am currently using Confluence, self-hosted on a Hyper-V server. I only have about 4GB of memory and it functions great and is very responsive. I am using it as a wiki for documentation. I also looked at BookStack, from a thread listed here on ML. As far as quick and easy to use, nice interface, copy and paste functions, BookStack was great! It's easy to organize documentation and notes, and can very easily be used as a todo list. The draw.io integration almost made me move from Confluence as most of my wikis have network diagrams and making changes in BookStack to those was simple.
I ultimately decided to stick with Confluence for the sole fact that I am able to create a template page and then copy that page over and over while I enter new client's. This allowed for a standard look across all my pages. I realize I could have done something similar with BookStack and copy and paste, however, Confluence allowed me to re-organize pages a bit easier.
I still use BookStack for creating diagrams and quick note taking. I believe @JaredBusch has an excellent post on getting BookStack setup quickly here on ML.
Hope this helps!

Gsuite and Outlook Archiving
I had a user who is using Gsuite for email and Outlook. They used the Google Sync for Outlook to set up the profile and everything was working fine. They used the Archive function in Outlook to archive all emails prior to a specific date. At this point, Outlook removed those files from Gsuite and imported them to a pst archive in Outlook. The user then decided they didn't want this and selected all the folders/messages in the archive and dragged them back to the Inbox in Outlook. The result of this is a total mess. There are a bunch of empty folders in the trash that matches the folder structure, however no messages.
Has anyone run into this particular scenario? I am more looking for anyone who knows the general overview of what happens when messages/folders from an archive get dragged into an inbox in Outlook where the same folder structure already exists. Any insight is greatly appreciated while I try to sort this out.

RE: Unifi Video
I have 4 of the UVC 3 running on an Ubuntu NVR. Really solid. I also have a Raspberry Pi running a 4x4 matrix of these cams hooked up to my TV. Programmed a button on the Logitech remote to quickly switch to that input to get a quick view of the outside of the house if need be, then back to regular tv. I also have the Unifi video app on a cell phone to access any recordings needed. Caught some punk kid trying to pee in one of my bushes. They are all mounted under my soffit's so they stay out of the weather and the night vision isn't terrible either. I have had this setup for close to two years.
