Installing Snipe-IT CentOS7 issues
Thought I would give this a separate thread instead of clogging up the install guide Scott has done.
Using the code as follows from a fresh install of CentOS7 from the DVD Media.cat /etc/redhat-release
CentOS Linux release 7.1.1503 (Core)yum -y install epel-release
mkdir -p /var/www/html; cd /var/www/html/
wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/snipe/snipe-it/master/install.sh && chmod 744 install.sh && ./install.shThat brings up this screen
When I browse http://server/ I get
Figured this might be MYSQL details to edited - app/config/production/database.php - to reflect username and password for database.
now get this
I'll now stop and do something else for a bit

RE: Installing Snipe-IT on CentOS 7 and MariaDB
Going to try again with a CentOS7 install with GUI so I can try locally incase its a Firewall/Network issue onto the VM.
Will post screen shots if I still have issues. -

Also might be worth mentioning this site for the time zones

I guess what I mean is ... Office 365 Business Essentials looks similar to what I have, except it also has online versions of Office, and 1TB of ODfB. For $1 a month more.
My advice go for the Enterprise plans. As if later you want to move from Small Business to an E plan you will need to set-up a new account and transfer the data yourself. (it's happening to me now!)

RE: Snipe-IT Asset Management Screenshots
So you got this running on CentOS7??
Might give it another go. What was the one line command you used for CentOS7 (is it the same as the one in my thread/rant lol)*edit - IGNORE ME - just seen the install Snipe-IT Thread

Here is the full install on Linux: yum -y install epel-release; mkdir -p /var/www/html; cd /var/www/html/; wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/snipe/snipe-it/master/install.sh && chmod 744 install.sh && ./install.sh && cd snipeit; sed -i "s/'timezone' => '',/'timezone' => 'UTC',/" app/config/app.php; php artisan app:install
That's what I tried and got page not found, going to try again today when I finished a few other things

Guess I just love windows - download a file click it - install - double click the icon it runs lol.
Well that's VERY misleading. If you were doing this "this Linux way" you just "yum install snipeit" and done. You don't even go to the website or download or anything. Your description of what to do on Windows is actually way too many steps for Linux.
The issue here is not related to Linux in any way. You want to install software that doesn't have an installer at all, so you are "installing" it manually. On Windows this would be SO MUCH HARDER.
The difference is, on Windows people just give up. On Linux people tend to find ways to do it. But the issue is 100% that no Linux install is available, it has nothing to do with it being Linux.
Picky git! LOL I know it's not Linux fault lol just wish people would have better howto's
Also Guess i'm a GUI person lol.As I said I'll give it a go on Ubuntu tonight if I get time.

RE: Bloody Linux! Just install the program/software
Virgin install of CentOS7 64bit
From this site:- http://docs.snipeitapp.com/installation/downloading.html
Download and run the installer script (centos/redhat and debian/ubuntu)
Note: requires Centos 6 or Ubuntu 14 or greater - (Or is that just Ubuntu14 and greater not CentOS???)
wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/snipe/snipe-it/master/install.sh
chmod 744 install.sh
./install.shleft it to it.
Did the config part, but when I go to http://machine/snipeit - I get page not found.
Guess I just love windows - download a file click it - install - double click the icon it runs lol.
Will try Ubuntu over the weekend.

Bloody Linux! Just install the program/software
This is why every time I try going from Windows to Linux I always go back.........................
I need a Asset management system to track hardware Phones/Laptops/Desktops. So googled and Snipe-IT was found, thought I would give it a go.
So set-up a new VM with Centos7, set-up networking, disabled firewalls while testing. Can I get the Snipe-IT software to install and run?????? Can I heck!
What happened to simple run this command then this then this ..... Start your web browser and finish. (Like Joomla or Webmin)
I give UP!!!! -

I have been pretty happy with my $20 U8 smartwatch. It isn't as pretty nor does it have as many features of as the brand name competitors. It does have all the basics of every smartwatch, though. I am able to discreetly see all notifications and read full text messages, facebook messages, hangout messages, etc.
It has allowed me to spend less time looking at my phone since quite a few emails and other notifications are garbage. It also has a pedometer. It is hard to beat for $20.
Hmmmmm might be worth a try to see if I like the "SmartWatch" concept.

You cannot image 200 machines with OEM Windows 7 to Windows 10 by only purchasing 1 Windows 10 VL.
Yeah, this is my current problem... I'm going to have to manually upgrade all of my win7 and win 8 to win 10... Then use my VL to roll images... What a pain!
This is what i'm looking at doing but only for new machines. Manually upgrade them to Win10. Then deploy a image that has our software on it.

RE: Android Wear Vs. Gear S2 (Tizen)
Really wish I could "borrow" one for a month and see if it fits my life before buying one.

RE: Android Wear Vs. Gear S2 (Tizen)
Yeah I've been interested in getting a "Smart" watch for a while and go like the LG range. I have been looking at the LG GWatchR.
But I think i'm going to hold off until the summer until I get one. (Gives me time to save up for one :))*Edit - should also add I need to find what apps can be used with them see if its worth replacing my existing watch (Wedding present)
