    • RE: Doubts regarding VoIP system

When 2 VoIP phones on the same system call each other directly, it is pure data, same as sending emails or transferring files. So if you are calling phones inside your network (whether it be in the same building or not) there should not be a charge for this.

The exception to this is when you convert the VoIP to call a phone number which means it leaves your network and goes to a telephone exchange, this is where you incur costs.

This is a basic approximation of what happens.

Don't often have issues in OneDrive for Business via web UI. Maybe they limit the performance of the free one.

    • RE: Security without AD

Authentication, you can look at many other options.

Now as for central management, device control, update management, there are also lots of third party solutions, so instead of rolling AD, you'd roll with an MDM style solution where instead of using pre-made group policies, you start pushing powershell scripts.

Then you are 10 years behind everyone else.

1.0 came out November 2006. - With additional versions MS and many vendors have been encouraging its usage. Its such a powerful tool, even if you just learn the basic cmds so you can understand what -get does, you can look up commands online.

Yeah if we're going to cross post a link to the source would be useful. It's a bit too much like leeching content otherwise.

I let him know that there was more info here because he posted when there was no one online there.

      That's not the same thing.

Well, I cross posted the majority from here TO there. So the leeching is more in that direction then.

So you hurt the SEO of 2 websites in one go? Good work.

      Cheer up, its Friday!

I just don't think we're being fair to the source by not back linking to them.

So what was the source of so many places reporting Windows XP?

Apparently a technician as a joke set his desktop-wallpaper to be the default XP one (greenfield) It was seen on a documentary, people asked the defence secretary (who would not have a clue on the spot) and gave a non committal answer about he's not sure.

Then the internet and media frenzy took off.

      Rewind.

Are these systems accessible from the outside?

Are only authorised military personal allowed near these systems?

Does the average SMB have a squad of armed sailors to protect from physical intrusion?

This sound like a nonsense article.

I don't know if this is true or not, but I'm hearing this is the case regarding Muslims in the UK. There are sections of the UK where the police don't even go because Sharia Law is taking over.

There are in fact areas the police are not able to patrol heavily. I grew up in Slough which now has areas where the police do not go unless they are in force and in riot gear, there are also parts of East London which are in a similar bad spot.

I was passing through Woolwich Arsenal, a massive fight had broken out....between 2 groups of angry white men....wearing different football uniforms.

Sharia law has nothing to do with it, its down to crime and vandalism, There are cases of gangs harassing women and individuals using "Sharia" as justification but they are in the minority.

Christianity also has its fair share of violent fools. Look at the Westboro baptist church.

I used to use Trustwave for external PCI pen testing.

PCI compliance is an absolute joke. As are the auditors who charge money to "test" for compliance.

How to be compliant really quickly?

      • Get second internet connection, All ports in blocked.
      • Place PCI traffic onto that internet connection and isolate it on its own network.
      • Ask to run the test, success, you passed.

Does anyone remember that pointlessly annoying "browser choice" thing the EU forced on Microsoft? Every time you installed a new OS, you got this app that ran asking you to "choose" a browser from a list. Fiddly to get rid of.

They forced in on the EU. Most of the US doesn't see that, did they. Go to the EU and immediately you realize how much you don't see it here.

      Sorry what?

Yes, a wonderful scanner. Except you need to buy 10x of them to cover a larger building. Where as if you did the much cheaper option, The need for the x-ray scanner falls.
