You aren't that far from @DustinB3403.
I feel your rural internet woes. You may want to see if there is a local telephone company that provides DSL to that location. The other option, and I'm not sure who does it out there, is a wireless internet service provider.

At the water park with the family
A water park, in winter? On a Monday?
It's one of the biggest indoor waterparks.

We can switch to Spanish, too.
Why? Less than 14% of the U.S. population speaks spanish... and only 3 countries in the world don't use the Metric system.
I'm not saying one instead of the other, I'm saying both.
You used mixed logic. To say Spanish doesn't make sense, is based on what the US already does, metric based on what the rest of the world does.
Reverse that and what do you get?
Almost no Americans use metric, but seventeen other New World countries use Spanish included our most populace neighbour.
Canada?
I think that's french.

Ubuntu 13.10 though... Why such an old release?
This happened in 2014.
I never thought this was a terrible idea. Using existing infrastructure for data com makes sense... Although obviously this implementation wouldn't work.

@hobbit666 Is it worth having a separate thread about a How to Size you server and disks?
Probably.

Books are always better with everything.
Books contain so many more details and a ton more "time". If you duplicated a book to a movie you'd have like a 12+ hour movie and spend a billion dollars. YOu just can't. So it's all pick and choose.
I think Peter Jackson did a decent job with LotR, at least remaining true to the spirit of the story while not including 100% of the details.
Tolkien was terrible with prose. He couldn't write himself out of a box if he tried. His world building though was phenomenal, and that's really the only reason you read the LoTR or the Silmarillion. The Hobbit was slightly better but still only for the world elements.

Finishing Deadwood with Laura
That was a great series. A shame they pulled it.
Ian McShane is sooooo good in that.
Watch American Gods. I love Ian McShane.
Did you ever watch Kings? He did a really good job in that... too bad it got canceled.

No, but it's on my list now.
I think if it was released today with the same cast it could do much better. It was just a bit too early for its time.

Started Godless on Netflix last night... good so far, I really like Jeff Daniels as a bad guy, but Sam Waterston's accent is terrible (he sounds exactly like he did on law and order).
Wait... Jeff Daniels and Sam Waterston in the same show again.... this will be my next series to watch.

Ran Delta Green on Saturday night for a bunch of people who've never really played a PnP RPG before. They got really into their characters. Love introducing new people to the hobby. Although my wife wasn't so happy. I game I had allotted 4 hours for turned into a 7 hour game and I had to modify the story a bit to cut it short or we'd have been going for another hour.
You did that wrong.
You should have cut it at like 5 hours or sonandntold everyone to plan a second game day to finish it.
Would that I could have. It would have made a much anticipated finale and we had two different opportunities to do it. I had promised a one-shot and we're all extremely busy so it's hard to get together. I've run enough long form campaigns that fell apart to know that.
I could never get into the FF games. My brother loved them. Just was too slow for me.
Just finished the installation of wire trays for our fiber. No more having to fish them through the drop ceiling tiles.
Watched the new Jumanji movie last time. It's not quite the original, didn't have nearly the same feel. But it was a funny and enjoyable movie. The main stars of the series did a fantastic job.

My 7 year old, like the new Jumanji better than the original.
It wasn't bad by any stretch. It was an enjoyable movie. Although I found myself wanting more of the kids story then the actual game itself. I know it was only a vehicle to get the the game but it was easily the most interesting part of the movie.
They did a good job giving each actor a good amount of screen time. I was expecting Dwayne and Kevin to hog up the camera.
Yep, Jack Black really stole the show. He was easily the best character and actor combo in the entire movie. Karen Gillian also did a phenomenal job although my wife couldn't stop thinking about her in Guardians of the Galaxy.
I can't stop thinking about her as Amy Pond.
Only the best companion. But yeah my wife couldn't believe someone who basically got their start on Doctor Who is now a fairly famous actress.

L. Ron Hubbard is a failed sci-fi writer who had to found a cult to get people to keep reading his books. And if your friend is actually not trying to rope you into scientology, he has terrible taste. But he's probably trying to rope you into scientology...
Trust me that is most definitely not the case. I wouldn't be surprised if he just has bad taste in science fiction books.
Also, don't forget that the cult of scientology hired people to try to smear Trey Parker and Matt Stone for making that south park episode... where they just told exactly what those morons believe. So your friend's taste aside, there's nothing redeeming about any of that guy's writings.
From a purely artistic point of view they just aren't that well written... Ignoring the cult aspect of it all (which is hard to do).
