Weekend Plans
-
Not much here. Today is a slow one, I get the house to myself. The wife and kids are at her sister's house. The in laws fly in from NY today. Actually should have landed already. So lots of kids seeing their grandparents all weekend. So tonight and tomorrow and quiet ones for me. Then Sunday is "Christmas stuff" like breakfast with Santa at the Rainforest Cafe up the street and then going to the festival of lights in the evening.

Going to a Toys for Tots benefit tonight where I will raise money for kids by playing very loud renditions of Rage Against The Machine, Godsmack, and Metallica tunes, among others, to a crowd of drunken adults. And it's a benefit, so I don't get paid... but we might make it in the news. Yee ha.

Doing nothing this weekend at least that is my grand plan
-
My wife and I still have to do some shopping and we can't do it with the munchkin around... So we're hoping the Grandparents will take him for a day or two next week!

Oh, it was awful.
I'm told that the event made the news last year, but I have no idea how. What a lame night. No announcements were made about "the cause", there were no signs or anything posted, and it was just another typical night of mostly crappy local bands at this place that usually has crappy local bands. Strange, though, is that national acts periodically play this place. I don't get why. It's in downtown Rochester, but not in a vibrant location. The sound guy there makes the stage volume incoherently loud and muddy, and there is so much low end in the main mix in the house that the bass feeds back. Who ever makes bass feed back? Seriously. And to top it off, I think they regularly run out of just about every beer by 2/3 of the way through every night I've ever played there (more times than I wish I had). But it's a nice stage and they have cool lights. Maybe that's the trick. -

Plan is that tomorrow is a calm, relaxing video game day. Then Sunday we hope to drive out to the ruins at Knossos to visit that.
-
Was hoping to go see Crete this weekend, but given the state of Dominica's ankle, looks like we are staying home.
-
Guess spend some time with the kids. Maybe take the helicopter and drone out if dry and not windy
-
Quiet weekend for us only one gig.
-
@art_of_shred you should hear the bass feedback at the crappy place we usually play. 1 monitor mix all the way across the stage, which is awful and way too loud. Everything feeds back.
-
@RojoLoco House sound? That's awful.
-
Going to Chicago - not sure I'll see JB.
-
-
Gearing up to go to an Aviation museum with the family tomorrow. Should be a fun day out!
