You can do the same, Owncloud has mobile clients and there is a mobile version of KeePass, but it's just clunky compared to LastPass.
Ah I wasn't aware of mobile Keepass. The mobile version of ownCloud is fantastic (the more recent update was really nice)... so that could be doable for me.
The fact that you have to manage your own ownCloud is the hassle here. I suppose you could OneDrive or google drive.
Managing ownCloud is a breeze. I've been doing it for several years. Hosting it yourself is the issue I have right now. I know at some point in the future I am going to be in a situation that a decent internet connection just isn't available.
Exactly. You have to pay to host it. If you're a home user, that's pretty unreasonable request. As a techie, we could buy a $5/month DO VM, but then we are at $5/month. Granted we get the rest of what we store there, but I'm sure at $5 the storage is limited.
For $10/mo you could have a quarter TB on Vultr!
Interesting.. but still only something for a techie... and compared to the current $12/yr, I'm not sure I'm even willing to do it. I do currently buy 50 GB from OneDrive for $1/mth, but moving to Office 365 person would get me 1 TB, plus all of the other benefits...
So many options.
Tons. If Lastpass didn't make it so easy...

Sad - I tried LastPass a while back and ended up preferring KeePass, but I was recommending less tech-savvy people check out LastPass as recently as a month ago. I'm done doing that unless LMI actually responds to the outcry over this purchase in a meaningful way, and I wouldn't bet on that happening.

They responded to the outcry about LMI itself by breaking the product, making it worthless and raising the price even more.

@coliver I actually don't use it on my mobile. I'd be interested in a Mobile version of KeePass, for sure... But if I need to do something on a web site (that I can't remember the password for) from my phone... I connect up to my home network and use RDP to my Desktop. lol.

Are you on Android or iOS? I can't remember the Android version, but the iOS version I think is MiniKeyPass... works decently, and will work the DropBox app

@gjacobse Android user here... Keepass2Android appears to be a good one... Compatible with the 2.x series and recommended on KeePass's website.

We had LMI and even bought ignition back in like 2010-2011. If I remember right it was $100 for life. Then they got rid of free, but if you had ignition you could still have 100 Computers connected. Now it's something ridiculous like $700 a year! Who would pay that? Teamviewer is $750 for life for unlimited machines, and it half works on Linux.

I can't believe that anyone uses LMI anymore. They were awesome long ago. Such a great product. Now the product doesn't work anymore, the cost is through the roof, lifetime users were screwed.... I won't do business with them no matter what products they buy.

Ya I use either Teamviewer or NoMachine with ZeroTier.

I'll agree that it's expensive, but not excessively, at least for 100 devices. I have a 100 remote support license for $400 or is it $500? $5 a year isn't bad in my mind.
But I was talking to others at SWorld... They have tech licenses for around $60/month... This ends up being much more expensive, but does include unlimited endpoints, I think, and many other features.
All that said ill still be looking into Zerotier and other options.

It used to be solid, but it got less and less so over time. Now we have issues with both the client and the server pieces working reliably. We've been migrating off of it to ScreenConnect which is worlds better, overall. Often it would connect but fail to stay connected, connections were flaky at best. Used to be awesome, it was a very dramatic shift from "essentially rock solid" five years ago to "this isn't working and we can't depend on it" a year ago.

That is a fraction of the quotes I've been seeing. It was several thousand for us, even with getting the numbers of machines greatly reduced as we moved off of it.

Pro pricing is misleading as that was always expensive. It is the Central pricing that is useful and doesn't provide the Pro features.

Central basic is still $499 for only 25 devices and it doesn't include file transfer. That's why I always compare pro because it has the features that others offer for much much less. Usoris Remote viewer is free for 10 machines, business or not and have some really cool features. More features than LMI Pro.
