Security NVR Recommendation

Since I now work from home, and generally out of site of all the windows, I am considering putting in a camera system. I've have worked with Speco systems but would rather not drop any more than really needed. But I want a good system with good cameras.
I don't care to build the system out if needed, .. looking for an 8-16 channel system, though I will only start with four cameras. Would be nice to have access to it remotely, which most do these days.

We put these in at our plant in North Carolina. I'm very impressed with them they record at a high resolution and the software is much more usable then our older system.

I know the Ubiquiti line of APs have a good rep around these parts... What about their cameras?

I have looked that them,.. recently even. while I'm not against adding more UBNT gear to the network, one thing I didn't see was outdoor rated models.
I may have missed it though.

i'm thinking about putting an 8 cam setup at a client myself. if i do before you decide...i'll let you know.

That I don't know. We do have 3 of the 17 we installed in outdoor areas. They haven't had any issues as of yet.

Seems they do have outdoor rated cameras. It wasn't quick to locate.

We have 6x UBNT cameras (indoors) and their NVR, as well as a Tough Switch for PoE. All have worked flawlessly, highly recommended.

I'd buy any DVR that matches the camera type that want.
And then buy the camera's separate. Any basic unit that you'd buy from Amazon are going to have crap camera's.
All you need is the software and storage space.
If you don't want to purchase a prebuilt system you could try something line ZoneMinder, and simply purchase camera's that are on the HAL.
