@scottalanmiller yep, we haven't "cured" anything since polio, and with anti-vaxxers running rampant among us, I feel we are on the cusp of a big polio comeback. I mean, we have had outbreaks of smallpox/measles, even though we have "eradicated" those diseases.... polio is overdue, don'tcha think?

The extended family who doesn't do vaccinations had a bout of something, I'm thinking it was polio, but not sure. They're actually generally more healthy, but could pass from something that wouldn't bother the rest of us. I don't think most people in the US are given any insight besides what big pharma pushes. Nobody really knows all the risk factors involved.

It's true, there are no honest studies in the US. All medical information is filtered. The degree of misinformation is crazy.

Well, considering the fact that they got DDT outlawed even tho the preponderance of evidence shows it's perfectly safe. They used a supposed study that they gave the excuse that it made bird eggs soft. Never mind that the study they used fed each group of birds in the study a different diet. I'll give you one guess which group of birds had such low calcium in the diet that they would have been unable to product good eggs. Time and time again they've pulled this sort of...... stuff.

Didn't the guy who created DDT eat like a spoonful a day to prove it was safe?

Anti-vaxxers are simply the bottom rung of the intelligence ladder... they are the individuals who are most susceptible to internet misinformation (looking at you, Vana Hari and Jenny McCarthy) and the whole "feelgood" marketing BS . No matter what hippies tell you, tea tree oil is not a cure for anything, especially disease we have vaccines for. Vaccines don't cause autism (a recent study, sponsored by anti-vaxxers, proved there is no link between vaccines and autism. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot).

For me it's not so much about autism as it is what else they include with the vaccines. If you want to remain healthy, you have to avoid all the vaccines with preservatives in them. IE Don't complain to me about the rising cases of Alzheimer's Disease if you continue pushing the yearly flue vaccinations with mercury in them. At least other types of vaccinations have a proven track record of actually working, which the flue vaccines do not.

And stats in the US have shown that getting the flu reduces your chance of death versus being in the general population! Take that modern medicine.

I don't get the flu shots because Cleveland Clinic has done a few studies that linked them to MS. There are a couple cases of MS on my mom's side and I don't want it. Our pediatrician asked me why and I told him that, he said that the flu shots are known to trigger hyperactive immune systems and cause issues like that.

@travisdh1 I don't complain about rising cases of Alzheimer's... ever. I also don't endorse getting flu shots, nor do I get them myself. I had one once, never been sicker in my life. I don't get the flu, or even colds.... those are for the weak.

We told our paediatrician that we wanted our kids to get their shots spread out instead of all at once. The doctors said "We never recommend that because American parents just don't care that much about their kids' health and won't bother to come in more than once, that's the only reason that the shots all at once are recommended. Spread out is definitely healthier." Apparently it is so rare that they don't even mention the better options. That's how bad the situation is.

I have lived where people do not get vaccinations. It is horrible to see people with Polio etc and dying of simple to cure things. Vaccinations for deadly things are an amazing part of modern medicine. However don't for the love of all that is good overload your immune system all at once. Jeeze that is just stupid. Parents that allow their kids to get 10 shots in a visit are idiots.

As a parent of a child on the Autism Spectrum did the vaccinations cause it? No! Did they make things worse when he had too many at once yes! Did that have permanent affects? No. Shots don't cause Autism can they trigger issues if you are an idiot? That is the question.

It's the lazy, selfish, arrogant, do-gooder, self centered, hands off, ironically overprotective asshat parents that cause most of the issues today. They are the real reason that society is degrading.

There is so much help and information available but because of ^ reasons (and probably more), they don't/won't take any of it on board IF they even go looking.

                            ...

                            I think I'll stop here.
