Yeah it's absolutely insane. @thanksajdotcom is a big fan of that show. No idea how he got through it.
The show is horrid, I do not get how anyone can stand to watch it.
I can't even figure out what it is. But that is an insane number of episodes!!
It's an anime that has been running nonstop since 1999. It's like #10 or so on the longest animes of all-time. It's an AMAZING show and I will be getting a full sleeve on my left arm all dedicated to the show, which I expect to cost at least $1500 by the end. But I've been watching since 2001 or so. It's amazing to see how the story starts out so cheesy and the animation is so basic (it was 1999) and to see how far it's come. The story drags out though. Unlike Naruto, which is 40% filler in the anime, One Piece is less than 10% filler.
Filler is content that is shown in the anime that isn't canon, aka from the manga. The One Piece manga has been running since 1997.

FYI, if you ever watch One Piece, I am Luffy. He is my spirit animal. I love him so much! Oh, and for @wirestyle22 , the voice of Konohamaru from Naruto is also the voice of Tony Tony Chopper.

How far in the show did you get? The show is slow until you reach the first major arc, which is Alabasta, and it doesn't REALLY pick up until you reach the Water 7/Enies Lobby arc. The Luffy vs Lucci fight is jaw-dropping. It's amazing, and once you get to the Dressrosa arc, and you see Luffy vs Doflamingo...oh yeah, shit gets real!
