I rarely say we're out of something - instead I just ask where she put it.
the reaction is the same though, regardless. -

I get the "OMG did you even look" after searching for an hour though. She actually threw out what I was looking for and was trying to cover it up. . .
Other times I'm completely blind to it. . . if it was a snake . . .

It would have bitten me, followed me to the hospital, bitten me a few more times and I'd only see it as it was escaping out the hospital's closest entrance.

Did you test by first unplugging everything and only using 1 device at a time?
