I've used https://www.iperiusremote.com/ for one-off things like this.
not sure what they mean here by using the term private instead of personal.
Well shoot, I don't remember seeing that before. Now I'm going to have to find something else myself.

https://www.aeroadmin.com/en/That looks like a good normal solution for easy remote support. But Because this is a setup and configure need, I am worried about the hour limit
Going forward, for general support that is quite a respectable set of limitation for free business use.

omething to let the VAR in to a specific computer to configure the new software.
Any recommendations?Splashtop works well

@jaredbusch - DualMon is not a bad option if you are trying to remote connect to a Windows PC or Mac. The free version can be used for commercial use. I could be mistaken but there might be a time limitation per month. I have one client that uses it to connect to QuickBooks desktop on a remote site on a daily basis and they never receive the time limit warning.
Another option is if you have MeshCentral setup, you can provide a guest pass. Similar with ScreenConnect if you are using it for this client. Not sure how much time the software vendor needs.

Not certain what OS Version- but on occasion we have had to use WIN10 Quick Assist.
-
Wireguard with RDP, but that might be too high tech, and requires forwarding port.

Client purchased software through a VAR specifically so the VAR can configure and set things up.
VAR does not have their own "remote support" tool.
I need to install something to let the VAR in to a specific computer to configure the new software.
Any recommendations?
I'm surprised the VAR doesn't use something like Zoho Assist. There's a free version that works well for one-off sessions. I used it this evening.

Yeah supprised if they are supporting the software they haven't got something like teamviewer

I have used Remote Utilities in the past. Not bad for 10 free systems.
https://www.remoteutilities.com - Per their licensing page

I've also used Remote Utilities before. It worked well and RDP mode was pretty slick. However, I don't believe it is designed around one time access.

It does have a run-only agent. Client starts agent, users connects, users disconnect and agent stops. Sorta a one time deal I suppose.

It's because they've never heard of Zoho. It's the best kept secret in IT.

Ended up using Google remote desktop. Because the client set it up without asking for input.

@jaredbusch Do you have to install the remote plugin and login with your gmail account to access the machine though?
