Comparing MeshCentral 2 to ScreenConnect
-
@scottalanmiller I get this, sometimes you may not be able to change the current A/V solution they are using though. This is still an issue.
-
Starting with MeshCentral v0.3.6-m, both the 32bit and 64bit MeshAgents should no longer report as a problem with any anti-virus. Both get a perfect score on virustotal.com. Update your server and you should be fine.
-
Quick note that MeshCentral v0.3.6-n just got published with remote user consent support for remote desktop, terminal and file access. The remote user prompt will work on Windows, MacOS and many Linux distributions. This is a much improved MeshAgent, so lots of fixes. Enjoy and of course, feedback appreciated.

Awesome work, as always.

Oh its an issue, just critical to understand where the issue is. Broken AV needs to be recognized as broken AV.

0.3.7-h .... we just updated to here.

And now 0.3.7-k. Being this far off of the time zone than the team makes updating MC easier, at least.

Just posted a blog on the latest MeshCentral2 improvements. Added FreeBSD support, Puppy Linux support, Account creation invitation Email, Notification control and API Tracing.
-
@Ylian Awesome, about to check it out.
Top on our list.... group security for access to host groups. We need to be able to put users into groups, and assign groups to things. I see the underpinnings of that started, so hoping it comes soon. You don't have to be very big before user management is a nightmare otherwise.
-
@scottalanmiller I put in a github issue on this a while ago.
-
The groups have appeared, but you can't assign them, yet.
-
Published MeshCentral v0.3.8-n with PowerShell support in the Terminal. For Windows computers, right click on the terminal "Connect" button and select "PowerShell connect".
-
@JaredBusch @scottalanmiller Yes, user groups of that form would be useful. Got lots going on right now.

Awesome! That's a HUGE feature.
-
Published MeshCentral v0.3.8-t with much improved event logging. Many more operations are now in the log and the viewer is improved with user/device links and details dialog box.
-
Couple things on the nginx proxy things.
First one I know is something boneheaded I messed up in the configs, but can't figure out what it is. I'm getting an unable to connect web socket error. Haven't really had time to go look at logs yet, but figured I'd see if it's something someone would know.
Second, why do the Nginx proxy instructions assume that Nginx and MeshCentral are running in the same instance? I'd never run them both withing the same instance, separate VMs at least, and neither should anyone else.
-
@Ylian I'm pretty sure the answer is "no you can't" but I may have missed something.
Do we have the ability to print to a local printer from the remote PC? I know I can if I setup full RDP but doesn't look like that ability exists via MeshCentral.

God I hate people that asked for this stupid function. Printers need to die in a fire. Being printed remotely through a fucking support tool is WTF.
