Another user posted having this installed on Server 2008 R2, which is obviously dated. So I've been trying to get this to install on a more current os. (CentOS 7)

Anyways, following the instructions doesn't really list anything that work as there are gaping holes in their documentation.

Following a few other guides gets me this.

Just doing this to see what the software is and see if we can get anything that works.

vTiger seemed like a decently dead CRM tool many years ago. It is not very actively maintained, from what I know. It's part of the SugarCRM fork family, all of which have essentially died. None of which were every all that good.

Yeah I thought SuiteCRM was the replacement for Sugar.

SuiteCRM is the later fork. vTiger was a much, much earlier fork. But both are part of the SugarCRM-fork family. And SugarCRM is still around, too. And really, all three are decently bad. And all three essentially gave up on being open source. Not quite, vTiger still offers something somewhere, SuiteCRM can be found but abandoned, SugarCRM stopped completely.

But it's a bad product family that really someone needs to just replace.

In the Open Source world, yes. Suite CRM was a fork of the last Sugar code that was open, to my understanding.

Oh hey, looks like SuiteCRM is updating again. There was something funky with them about a year ago. Looks like they are doing open source releases regularly again. Good deal.

SuiteCRM is definitely the best of the old Sugar family.

                    Is SuiteCRM's Cases feature decent?

Not a sales guy, not sure how it is.
