      Since you are using Fedora confirm if SELinux isn't the one causing the issue.

      I hate to say it but you might have better stability from future updates and any surprises by disabling SELinux.

        Why is this on Fedora? There are zero benefits to this.

        Migrate your install to Debian, or even Ubuntu if you hate yourself.

            Then don't use one at all and manage the AP with their app.

              That's not very logical. You have "no need or desire" for things to be simple? Saying you have no need or desire, on a thread of issues caused by it, doesn't add up.

              It's fine to be passionate about homogenous deployments, but lacking desire makes no sense, and the "need" is to make your life easier.

              Ask yourself... what purpose is the "single distro" requirement serving given that it doesn't make things easier, but rather harder?

                  I definitely wouldn't call this a go-to distro situation since it's pretty much Ubuntu or debian as JB said. This is more the - choose what the vendor supports situation.

                    It's more an "order of precedence" and you normally take the first one from your list that is considered first class by the app you are trying to deploy.

                      Umm, Fedora is his go to distro. That has nothing to do with the vendor.

                      But blindly staying with something like has been stated, is just silly.

                        I won't sit here and dispute the right tool for the task mentality. There is always the 'case' of yes you can do it that way, but it's not recommended. I can use a pair of channel locks to turn a bolt, but likely it'll get chewed up. Yes - it WILL work.. but it's not the RIGHT tool for the task.

                        Anyway - likely will just burn Fedora on a box and load Ubuntu, and determine my reshuffle later... The whole point for some of this was to reduce the PC systems. The only desktop suitable for VM is still rebooting on me,.. so it's slated for a full rebuild / replacement.

                                    Just do LXC or Docker/Podman. You don't need a full VM for it.

                                            Ubuntu Server 16.04
                                            Controller is up as a sigh VM.

                                            Whole point of getting it off a VM is that the VM host hardware is sketchy... but alas... I did it anyway.

                                            Now,... dang it... the password I have isn't working, and the Mongo recovery isn't working. - new thread.
