Deepin has no torrents available. . . QQ
Okay, but you can use Google drive for it to download (which is super fast).
How is that going to help, I still need the file.
I am not sure I follow, Deepin is a full distribution with an ISO to install and then deploy.
How is google drive going to help me get the iso. . . It's there on deepin's website. I need it here on my desktop. Are you saying there is some way of downloading the file directly into my google drive account and from there to my desktop?
No, when you click on the google drive icon it will give you the option to download the ISO directly to your computer, no Google Drive Client to use. Just plain old download.

It really does help, that's how I download them now that I learned about it. So much faster.

So with the deepin-installer-oem it appears you actually need to install it, and once installed it can be run.
I'm testing now.

Well Ubuntu has this down pat. . .
I just hope the hardware will be able to run it well enough.

Well Zorin is built on top of Ubuntu, so if it will run Zorin, it will run Ubuntu.

The installer itself doesn't have an OEM option.

What does that have to do with the performance?

He was talking about the OEM install that is available on the boot screen. I don't recall anything about the performance between Ubuntu and Zorin OS.

Do you know who is getting these computers or are you just donating them? This seems like a LOT of work to just be donating some computers to be used by unknown people for unknown reasons...
-
@bnrstnr The goal is to have the machines clean enough to be able to donate or super cheaply sell to employees who want one.
Waiting for DBAN to do it's thing isn't an option and creating a set of users isn't either.
So OEM setup is the best approach for the 2 hours it might take to find a viable option. Which ubuntu works, I'm not using it. . . lol

Yup, if Deepin had a simple way to do this, as the Deepin-Installer-OEM doesn't appear to work, at least not without some tinkering (which I don't want to do) I'll just use Ubuntu.

A quick google search found Mint has an OEM install.

https://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/2346I tried mint on this hardware and it didn't run the way Id expect.
So went to the most basic OS, Ubuntu.
