So I'm going to be wiping some old equipment, that is still functional, but can't have company data on it.
I want to install Zorin OS, and at the first start-up I want the system to ask for a user to be created. Rather than at installation it asks to create a user.
Any pointers?

Essentially I want an Out of Box experience for anyone who takes one of these, rather than me having a generic user account with a generic password.
-
You could make a first boot script that makes it do that.

Any pointers? Not something I'm opposed to doing, but also not something I want to invest a lot of effort in.

Have you look at the Zorin OS OEM version?

If Zorin OS is based on Ubuntu, there is an OEM Install that can do an Out of Box experience.

YEs, that is what is.

If Zorin OS is based on Ubuntu 17.10.1, the only option available at boot time after pressing F4 is Normal.
If based on Ubuntu 16.04.4, you see three options: Normal, Use driver update disc and OEM install (for manufactures).Must be only available on the Ubuntu LTS versions.

This functionality doesn't appear to work on Zorin.

I guess Ubuntu . . . bah.

Okay, but you can use Google drive for it to download (which is super fast).

I am not sure I follow, Deepin is a full distribution with an ISO to install and then deploy.

How is google drive going to help me get the iso. . . It's there on deepin's website. I need it here on my desktop. Are you saying there is some way of downloading the file directly into my google drive account and from there to my desktop?
