      @art_of_shred

      I knew we recently worked on one of these, just could not recall the make / model.

        Take the phone apart, find teh leads for the speaker, remove them or solder some on if the speaker is on the board. Drill a hole so the leads can come out of it.
        Hook those leads up to an airhorn or foghorn. Every time the phone rings you will wake the dead.
        edit: youll need to power the airhorn/foghorn obviously

              That's what I was thinking as well. The only missing piece for me is to figure out how the PA-1 integrates with an existing analog speaker. There are a couple of different ports on the PA-1, including what looks like an RJ11 jack, as well as a Black/Red standard audio connection. For a shop environment, will I need any other external amplifier, or is the built in 4 watt amplifier good enough to power the speaker?

              Depends on the speaker. This would work.

                I always recommend the Snom PA-1 as the go to device for anything like this.

                    I put in a snom pa1 for this at my last job. It worked really well and plugged right into the punch down board all the shop speakers were attached to.

                      Looks like this guy would fit the bill just fine. https://www.arktel.com/catalog/p-1407-weatherproof-1181-compact-paging-loudspeaker.aspx

                        Dealt with similar situation, the guys in the shop tried a few solutions and settled on a big flashing light (no one liked the additional sound in an already cacophonous environment). Can't recall the vendor, sorry.
