I am going to be driving five to six hours to get up to Rochester tonight. But at least I get to relax up there for several days with the family.
Drive carefully. Hope you have your laptop, tablet, etc device with you for support...
Nah - Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving @scottalanmiller, you and @Dominica both.

Out of curiosity, how far is a 5-6 hour drive for you?
-
Woke up this morning to the smell of smoke and water bombers circling overhead.
There was a fire on the outskirts of town. -
Cursing myself for not working harder on my resume this weekend. Came in to bad news today for the future of our department and watched my two coworkers scurrying around trying to make excuses and save themselves instead of constructively working out a solution to the problem.
-
Now heading home to see the bottom of a few bottles of courage and see if I can muster up another attempt at long term employment. SMB/SOHO is a tough row to hoe some days.

Best of luck, mate. No one likes that news.

I'm at my dad's watching the kids. We made it out of downstate before the blizzard hit. Boy are we glad. Nice and clear up here.

306 miles. Could be done in under 5 hours, but not with two little kids. Have to stop for fuel, food and bathroom breaks too. Plus there is often traffic, although last night there was not.

That's the problem with politics in the workplace. Fixing the problem is rarely the best solution for you personally. Thus making the overall situation worse.
Sorry to hear.

Enterprise space is really heating up. I'm getting several contacts per hour. What region are you in?

Two laptops, two tablets, two iPhones. We are pretty well prepared. Plus we are literally walking distance from the NTG main office. So access to a lot of stuff if needed. Already saw @Minion-Queen this morning.
-
@Dominica and @Minion-Queen are out iPhone shopping. They went to TMobile to look at getting @Dominica either an iPhone 6 or a 6+.

Got walked out of McAfee this morning. Called my new job and I should be starting Monday!

Well that was fast. Not big on letting you give notice there, huh?

Good luck at the new job. Odd that they walked you out within... a day of giving your notice? Too many formally disgruntled workers.

Yeah, sent the email yesterday. Got walked out within 15 minutes of starting my shift this morning. New job should have me starting Monday though. The guy at the new company seemed kind of disgusted with McAfee for not letting me finish out my two weeks, but whatever.

Well, disgusted in a "that was disrespectful of them" kind of way.

Afraid I have no contacts in BC. Seattle, yes. But not across the border.
