Fucking monday.
Nothing's wrong, im just bored at work .
Which, shouldn't happen.Welcome to my world - weeks of boredom followed by a month's worth of stuff that must be done in 48 hours. I actually had to be here at like 7am last week - that's far outside my regular hours. But they just gave me a raise, so they say jump , I say how high.
fair enough!
I blame the weather for us to being slow today.how does the weather make you slow? computers rarely care about the weather.

Fewer customers I would guess.

restaurants are slow during bad weather/crappy travel conditions.
So the fewer customers they get the less calls we get. -
is Disney Plus worth it?

is Disney Plus worth it?
Depends on if you like Disney movies or properties. It is quickly going to be the only place you can find Star Wars, Marvel, animated, etc.

you have a small child - most would say yes.. unless you're scott, then you'd say no because you hate disney.
-
@WrCombs said in What Are You Doing Right Now:

For me, total "no". For most people, probably a huge "yes". It's basically Hulu from a technology standpoint, but with Disney content instead of non-Disney content.

Exactly - it's like asking is Neflix worth is? the answer is - does it have content you want to watch? if yes, then yes, it's worth it.
I suppose another thing to consider is - are you limited on bandwidth where you are most likely to watch it? If you are, then it might not be worth it..

No.
Because my KIDS hate Disney.
They don't like Disney movies, nor do they like Star Wars (and I've tried.) They liked the first three and once they saw the newer ones, won't watch it any more. Nor do they like Marvell (and my wife tries hard to convince them of that one.)

Exactly, is very content specific and isn't going to change, unlike Netflix or Hulu which are more general and will change over time as to what they offer.

To like it. SHE is all about super hero movies. But the rest of us can't stand them (nothing against Marvell, it's the concept of the genre. Marvell is just the worst of it.)

And as far as your kids hating it - that's so.... so.... odd. I don't know of any other kids that hate disney, especially girls... makes me wonder what happened there?

If this is true, then D+ won't last. Disney owns Hulu now, maybe even exclusively... I could see them bringing them all together in one if D+ looses viewers after the first three years (and only three years because of the D23 deal they sold several months ago - so a ton of people have it for 3 years already)
-
We have Disney+ for free and we will use it to watch a few things. But I can honestly say that scrolling through it... it's like going back to cable. A million choices and nothing you'd want to watch. It's awesome that the archive is so big, but holy cow is it full of crap. The stuff we all here like most is terrible shows that are nostalgic from our childhood. My kids can't find anything that they are willing to sit through other than Home Alone.
Even if you love the Star Wars, Marvell and Disney movie properties, that's a drop in the bucket and the experience is scrolling through a million movies to get to those. And chances are, if you are fans of any of those you already own the movies. I know we do, and we aren't that big of fans. So so far the only thing we found that we wanted to see but didn't already own was 1959's Darby O'Gill and the Little People. Which is actually terrible, just really classic.
I plan on watching the Absent Minded Professor, Shaggy Dog, original Freaky Friday, etc. But those aren't worth the price of admission, but worth it once you are there if you are old enough to appreciate them.

They didn't go to public school and do it out of peer pressure. They were left to determine what they liked without all of the advertising and peers telling them what was and wasn't cool.

I don't see that being true. For me, sure because the things I want to see are SO rare. But for most D+ non-free users, I don't see that happening. The catalogue is crazy, and that audience has a tendency to think of their payments as "donations" to support it. So aren't looking to find ways to trim the small cost. And there are certain things that fans will want to watch over and over that aren't anywhere else.
Will it lose some people because of the limited scope of the catalogue? Obviously, because I'm gone once it isn't free. So that's easy to prove. but thinking I'm anything but the minority would be a big mistake, i think.

I suppose - and now they will be left out of cultural references that others will get as they grow up because they didn't watch them. I've never seen Heavy Metal, and apparently I miss things because of it. as a single example.
I've tried watching it sense.... man it's just horrible! -
