      @dbeato damn millenials!

      Hey now..

If I recall, you're Gen Z, not Gen Y, so you're not a millenial. Post-Millenial - or whatever the name is in use today.

Correct However, I dont use "FaceTime" as my means of communication. I dont even own a single Apple Product .

Well, those things are very Millenial. Apple is the "millennial product", brand over substance.

Everyone I know owns Apple Products.
      It's ridiculous.

Only because it was given to me by a doctor. Otherwise nope, Android I would have, at this point.

My friend group, Except for me and one other friend have Iphones and they keep saying "I dont speak broke" but they dont have a car.. so...

huh - talk about priorities.. /sigh.

let me guess - they all still live at home too?

Nothing wrong with living at home as long as you are contributing something to it... or the parents start charging you rent, lol.

I have a very American way of looking at that - so on the surface I say you're dead wrong. But upon deeper reflection, meh - whatever.

But still having an iPhone over a car - unless you work from home or are actually taking public transportation, seems like a crazy situation. And this town we live is is horrible for public transport, so while it is there, if you don't live in a very specific part of town, it's pretty useless. i.e. the near bus stop to my house if more than 5 miles away.

I totally agree with you about an iPhone over a car!

Getting kicked out of the house at 18 (or whatever) is definitely very much an Americanism. Not something my family has been prone to do. Almost every cousin of mine has (or does) live with their parent(s) at some point after graduating into adulthood.

It largely depends on the family situation and how well everybody gets along, lol.

Not an American thing, it's just an affluence vs. cost of housing factor. All countries with similar housing and cost of living ratios have people move out. All countries where income is much lower compared to housing cost have people live at home.

I can give you that one.

I've always got on good with my family, so staying home is [almost] always an option. Some families it's a good idea, other families, it's a terribly bad idea, lol... Play it by ear. I stayed with my folks until I landed a job that could support me and my bride to be.

I was told to be gone by my father's second wife shortly after my 19th birthday (age of majority in NE). two weeks later I was out and never went back.

Glad you could make it work for you. 🙂

      I don't say it shame anyone - I realize that I had a few good/lucky breaks.

Oh, I know. We'll take the good & lucky breaks whenever we can, right?

ADP's best practice 8 years ago was to require "installation on physical machines". When I showed their support person the machine their software had been running on for 3 years before I started work there he said "Yeah I'll be talking to my coworkers to update our documentation"

Thankfully I don't have to deal with ADP directly for this client. From what I've been hearing, ADP messed up a bunch of W2s for employees, and now the company is scrambling to get things corrected.

Surprised! The Gov't shutdown didn't affect ADP's ability to mess things up.

I have a feeling ADP gets paid per hour for supporting this **** as well. I'm so surprised they ****** it all up. (sarcasm)

On hold with ValueTec giftcards support. Customers said it was my responsibility to call them and figure it out, Because it goes through our system.

Looks like we are getting a tiny dusting of snow overnight... you can feel the panic setting in, even though it's 58F outside right now.

I always wonder how people handle their first winter here that move up north from the south. We're due to get rain turning into snow overnight, which means a layer of ice under the snow. Less than 3" of snow, barely worth noticing.

@WrCombs I figured after all of the long conversations on here you'd feel that you're required to quit for the well-being of this communities blood pressure.

Nothing quite like milk sandwiches when you're snowed in.

It's the tradition of people in the south to freak out and buy all the milk and bread before a snow flurry. Not sure why just those 2 items. I just made up milk sandwiches, but I might make some liquorball sandwiches if it snows much...

Because if there are two things not good for surviving on, those are them.

Both perish quickly and provide nominal dietary value.

Yeah I would think eggs are a much better thing to stockpile.

For sure. Way more nutrition, last much longer.

Get the kind with no added sugar. That's the best.

Peanuts themselves are actually one of the very best things for you you eat, so long as you're not mixing each bite with a spoon full of sugar.
