About to drive to Houston with the family.

I just started a 6+TB VM move from one of my locations to another across the wan. Oh, and converting from vmware to hyper-v while I was at it. Let's hope it all goes well.
well, this would have worked if the host that was doing the conversion didn't have a bad RAM chip. Anyone know how to get more info from a supermicro on which RAM module this might be?
Might just have to pull them one by one and see.

I hadn't seen the fuss over the golden milk LOL, it's just a vey common drink made with turmeric, milk and ginger! Good morning by the way
Totally unheard of state-side. But sounds decent.

I think I am going to try a memtest. Just a few weeks ago, this was my production host with a lot of critical workloads on it. It's now been relegated to backup duty so I think I lucked out on the timing.

Lol probably, but I know the minute I say "we are working" people jump on that bandwagon.

I'm going to be dealing with a "why do we have to do this one thing that takes like 15 seconds longer?" conversation at some point. . .
And the answer is "because our clients require us to" now do your job.
-
Going to be a busy day over here. Changing out vNICs in some guest servers, preping a computer to be reissued after it came back from repair, and have to finish off the giant wall clock project.
-
More wondering what Microsoft is thinking with it's naming conventions and accounts here, there, and anywhere. Some showing up in odd places. OneNote, I'm looking at you.
No wonder it's a confusing mess!
-
one thing that drives me nuts is their use of 'sign off' sign out' log off 'log out'. with W10, you go 'sign off' and then you're asked if you want to 'sign out'
i can remember when MS products were only considered lowly desktop products, then NT came along and they worked like hell to create an image that MS & NT were a highly professional enterprise company that could be trusted. they did get to that point (IMO), but along came W10 and the whole image thing started to revert back to the desktop kiddie image (again IMO).
anyway i'm going to lunch early.

Catching up on business accounting tasks.

Morning!

Morning coffee and drafting documentation on how simple it is to use encrypted disks to securely transfer client and company data around.
Including not only installation instructions for OSX, but usage instructions with pictures. because pictures are worth 1000 words*.
@WrCombs thanks

What are you using for the encryption?

Veracrypt because it's FOSS and OS agnostic.

We looked at using solutions like Bitlocker and Apples Filevault but immediately ran into obvious issues of compatibility, among other issues.
