I'm spitting my coffee out through my nose as I quote the smallest possible vSAN system from VmWare running ESXi.
https://vsantco.vmware.com/vsan/SI/SIEV
2 VMs with 2 Nodes, over $3 Million dollars for hardware alone.
Who is drinking the Kool-aid?
My boss is always saying that he wants 1 throat to choke. I guess they want to choke VMware's if something goes wrong.
Choking on something maybe. . . he certainly won't be choking VMWare's throat. . . but he might be choking on VMware. . .

Huh?
The absolute smallest at MSRP in only ~$70,000 total. I believe that includes licensing as well. How did you set yours up? Actually if you drop to a hyperconverged setup it looks like only ~$45,000 total.

With the smallest numbers I could put in, 2 vm, 2 node to meet our current storage requirements.
Nothing fancy, literally as small as possible.

It just sounds like some unethical sales person got a hold of a guillable and unsuspecting IT buyer and just reamed them of what they were wanting.

Only a +1 helmet will do. Non-magic will just be destroyed by the wall.

Reading this email from a user...
"So the clinic bought two laptops from the pawn shop and they definitley have a virus or something. The history on one of them is pretty amusing but basically I need to get them scanned and the virus protection put on them. They can have (Redacted) put on them but (Redacted) is not necessary. The computer I have ready is called Laptop-97hj0gjg. Do I need to install anything on the computer for you to log onto it?"
SMH...

Why is someone who writes emails like this allowed to buy a computer, or log into one for that matter.

This is how laws end up getting made about these things.
