Gotta love when a newbie posts on SW and says he knows nothing about what he is doing and gets all kinds of bad advice and it turns out that he just didn't want to admit that he knew what he was doing and actually knew far more than everyone that posted in the thread trying to deceive him. Basically he just wanted to double check that he had everything right, and he did. He was spot on in every aspect. And every single post tried to trick him into something totally bad.

We talk about bench work here a lot and people often associate it with low end. I just got an email about a bench manager job in NYC for $180K. Not too shabby.
that would be a nice starter... but can I work from home? I hate that commut

Not trying to shame the scammers trying to look good posting bad info. This was just a good one because via PM he admitted that he had done everything right, even the stuff that everyone had tried to mislead him on. The biggest thing is that he was virtualizing already, and every one in the thread pushed for physical installs only!

Well some kind of manager. I'm not a bench guy, my offers are 99% IT, not bench. That was an exaggeration. If I was okay with $180K as an IT manager, I'd have been set long ago I should say.
Sounds like a king of the porcelain thrown variety. . .

I literally just had to explain to our receptionist that "enter your credentials" in an RDP session means "enter your user name and password". I then had to explain what a user name and password are. I need 5 drinks. And a new receptionist that has something a little higher than mid-double digit IQ.

Double digit something got her the job. . .

@DustinB3403 she might be cute if she didn't have such a whiny voice (every time she opens her mouth I want to punch her).

Thanks. After nine years of holding on to it, we are so anxious to see it go.

Is it something you can publish as an 'app' and she not see it? We had to do that for SAP.. That way they don't see two desktops and two outlooks and yada...

@gjacobse nope, her RDP shortcut had credentials for the old system saved apparently. I trained her on how to log into the new system when it was deployed, but that was over a month ago, so obviously remembering that training isn't gonna happen.

yea - some times we have to clear the CredManager for that reason.
