Watching Blue Bloods and planning how I'm gonna be on the road to NY in 48 hours...

@JaredBusch Am I missing something here or is it Mother's day already in another country? lol!
-
Scratching my head wondering why me! Why are most solutions hard to find? Why do fools fall in love. And why do so many people DOUBT the Seahawks! Oh well! Such is life!
-
always nice to find out that your back up power works...or doesn't.. Breaker just tripped taking down a server...I know since it's in my office. (No - I didn't do it...)
so, the ups needs a new battery. Guess that just moved up the chain of things to do today.Trying to get Adobe to refund some money... (fun times)
and wishing it would SNOW! -

What?

I'm getting very close to having all the servers and data in this company backed up. This has been a year in the making to find the budget and cultivate the buy in from the staff. Feels good man.

Wow, that is soon. And is that really a good idea seeing as a record blizzard is crushing NY right as we speak?

I'm at my new desk, setting up my new laptop and just got permission to divulge where I am and what I am doing. I'm on the Infrastructure Engineering and DevOps team at Change.org out here in San Francisco. I came out here for the technical opportunities, chance to make a positive difference in the world and to be able to focus on the family more. More details to come as I am just getting set up.

Snow isn't really doing much upstate, or at least the Southern Tier.

It's snowing pretty good here. We are only supposed to get like 6" by tomorrow night. Normal winter weather here.

It is like 64 and sunny here

Trying to learn this Mac OSX thing. I've not seen a Mac to any real degree since 10.4!! I am seriously out of my depth. You really forget the staggering learning curve on these devices. Nothing is intuitive at all.

Got HomeBrew installed and working. That's pretty nice. A lot like Chocolatey in the Windows world.
I'm pretty excited about being in a Windows-free environment. Quite a change of pace. UNIX everywhere, all the time.
