I've fallen behind checking logs, what you always hope is the boringest part of the day.

This morning, been trying to get a free car I got a few days ago to actually start, an '04 Dodge Intrepid, and it's got sooooo many problems...
Seriously wtf.. unless you enjoy that kind of thing, this is almost never a good idea. You can generally find working vehicles for less than it will cost your to fix a free one.

Learning about the Paraffin Paradox... kinda neat class room item. Maybe something @scottalanmiller and @Dominica could show the girls.

Watching a video on it.

Why is it called the paraffin paradox? What is paradoxical about it?
-
Roomie made it home.

Hi, my name is @scottalanmiller and I am going to throw the baby out with the bathwater because I disagree with something.

I'm asking why it is called that. I can't figure out the paradox. They didn't mention it in the video. It's just an object used for getting students to think about hypothesis and how they think about what an object is.

I don't know why it's called that.. maybe due to:
A rectangular block of paraffin is exposed to a source of light from different directions creating a ```discrepant``` event. Students make observations, ask questions, and make a hypothesis about the block of paraffin.
I just thought it was neat.

The more I use them the more impressed I am with them. The Ubiquity AP's really are as good as everyone claims.

Yep, you just happen to be close to halfway between the shipping company hubs, and which one it gets delivered from might change every week or month. Trust me, it's even more annoying for the people delivering your packages!

Of that I don't doubt - I really thought that Louisville was a major UPS / FedEx hub,... Maybe not.. meh,.. oh well

Memphis is the main hub for FedEx. That is actually where the company originated. I'm not sure about UPS. But the main hubs for the northeast for FedEx is Indianapolis and Memphis.

You should have told it to give me a ring, your laptop and I could have had a pint!
