Trying to get everything in order for my drive to Rochester tonight... it's only 3.5 hours but so much to do before hand.
What's up in Rochester?
VMWare UserCON. Trying to get a better handle on what NSX is and how it can be used.

It's software defined networking, like OpenDaylight.
http://www.vmware.com/products/nsx.html
It's so you can virtualize your network equipment like switches and routers directly on the hypervisor. Nothing too exciting.

I figured that part out... but they are marketing like it is the third coming or something. They are marketing it as this revolutionary datacenter management application. So I want to go sit through their spiel and usage demos to see if it would be useful.

Rarely good to learn about that stuff from the vendors themselves. The spiel is always misleading.
Like when Cisco mocked us for only having 10Gb/s to the desktop and said we were all fools and that even YouTube wouldn't run over such a slow connection in the near future.

Not disputing that. This would be the closest I can get to it at this point though as I don't have the hardware to test it on. Plus Veeam will be there!
