What Are You Doing Right Now

Today was a crazy day here. Still trying to catch up from all the prospective quotes from 6 months ago or more. They are coming out of the wood work. Had another client who has had a project stalled (their part not ours) so long, 2 1/2 years, that I have had to hand him off to 4th Engineer to do the next little piece.
Here starts our crazy busy time of year. Everyone trying to spend their year end budgets and get things into next years budgets!

How do you know that it was India? Rarely do they tell you.
Accents. And I could hear other accents in the background. I suppose it could have been somewhere else, but that was unlikely.

I get this a lot from people. Remember that call centers in both NJ and Dallas, as examples, are often nearly all staffed with people with accents. I've gotten tons of people making assumptions when calling NJ. While there are many call centers in India, there are many in the US and you have no way to tell them apart. That's an assumption you can never make. You are just as likely to be upset with US labour as offshore labour.

That's what I said... They do offer advanced delivery but that is 3-5 days still.... Which would normally be fine, but the user is leaving on a 9 day trip on Wednesday. I've been considering it for awhile now but this may be the clincher for doing a different hybrid device instead of the Surface.
This is definitely a selling point for iPad. Microsoft is not an enterprise hardware vendor, neither is Apple. But Apple Stores give same day service, all over the world. HP or Dell would have a device there later today or tomorrow. Microsoft is setup to deal with consumers and only consumers. They don't have an enterprise hardware product, so all of their logistics are based around home user needs.
Yep, I understand that. Although one of the reasons we went with the Surface Pro series was so that we could have a full OS in a smaller form factor, something that no one else really had at the time. It has been working perfectly for our users. I'm going to start looking at Dell, HP, and Lenovo (although I've heard nothing but problems with their hybrids).

I have personally tested all of them. The Surface is the least buggy. The others have tons of bloat wear that is impossible to delete without having operating system issues afterwards. Unfortunately the Surface and IPad are the best options still.

What is wrong with liking Taylor Swift?! She has great music and is a decent human being, There are plenty of people who are idolized who are horrible people, but Taylor Swift is a good person!

Same labor, different geographical locations.
