Latest in the Windows 10 / Edge saga. Now there is no working back button. It's just greyed out, all of the time.

even after a reboot?
Did you install any software recently?

Updated the GeForce drivers, finally. Had to do it manually, the GeForce Experience was never working. That's working now, though. So small improvements.

Came in for christmas maintenance only to find the place is jumping and full of staff... I'm not sure if they're all hiding from their families or what, but I'm going to start powering shit off like I just don't care

Christmas was last week. Do you normally have the week between Christmas and New Years off?

Nope. They have 1/2 day Xmas eve, then return to work Dec 26 (if not a weekend) and work full on up to and including Dec 31, off for Jan 1, then back to work Jan 2 (again if not weekend).

We took the 24th from 12pm till this morning off and will do that again for the 31st at 12pm - Monday the 4th off.

It was nice having time off,.. but so so glad to be back in the office... nice and quiet!!!! Doing my best to 'work' and not kill time on Steam: Vega Conflict or in FO3..
After the beating my wallet has taken the last bit,.. I'm trying to hold off on the NAS and RPi build I have planned... Need to hold off until after the 4th when we return from Virginia.
-
Twiddling my thumbs so to speak.... searching for a large enough capacity thumb drive for my Alpha Xen Orchestra Host / Backup target build...
Damn I hate it when I don't have what I need...

I ran into this with every organization I've been in.

We can't all live in Canada.
and like @coliver said, it's been this way for nearly every company I've ever worked at. The major exception are when I worked in a call center and retail - both of those were open Thanksgiving, Xmas AND New Years day. Inbound telemarketing pretty much never closes as long as there are ads on TV.

Super different culture or something
2nd year running the CEO of this company came by our office to thank us personally for working 28/29/30 and assured we'd be paid for the time and get 3 extra vacation days as a thank you

TIL that Windows has a built in network capturing engine.

Most colleges keep a similar schedule. The last two I've worked at Shutdown at the EOB on Christmas Eve, and don't ask Staff to come back until after New years.
