Well... plug-in downloaded source, compiled, installed and activated.
In "Setting/Plugins" I can see now the "backup-reports" and "transport-email" plugins.
I made some simple test with "Backup Jobs" and all seems ok.

I'll be interested to see how "truly" open this all becomes. Even though it is an open source project, SmartBear Software actually acquired/owns Swagger as of late-September. That's the same umbrella company that acquired SoapUI (open source API testing tool) a few years back. I think (and believe) they will handle it tactfully, but it's a tough balance to figure out between corporate revenue and open, community-based projects like this.
I'm sure Apps will keep on improving, whilst I suspect Office has peaked.
I don't know, MS took a major step back with 2013 to prepare for some awesome stuff. I think that they have good things coming. Their move to make collaborative editing like Google Apps had was a major win.
On this note, I am with @Dashrender as you have to plan ahead with credentials or SSH keys in *nix and in Windows you plan ahead with AD or local accounts. Either way this one is a wash not a savings.
Having done both, I would call it a pretty big savings. No extra infrastructure, effectively no management.
