@melvinsilva said in Optical Fiber Connectors - CompTIA Network+ N10-007 Prof. Messer: @mary It depends on what you have, some Cisco Switches came with GBIC others (now in time) come with SPF. And now SFP+ (SPF is sunscreen levels, SFP/SFP+ are the adapters.)

That's nice, but you'll have to convince me that this is news. Fiber network taps have been around for almost as long as fiber. With fiber you can monitor the drop in signal. That's always been the real differentiator, the fact that you can tell you've been tapped.

Cool! Here's some other Fiber news. While not the impressive distance... http://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/06/29/proximus_huawei_trial_terabit_fibre_speed/ single super-channel optical transport network (OTN) card with a transmission speed of a pretty hefty 1Tbps, running along Proximus' optical backbone. ... The companies claim their approach increases the capacity on a fiber cable by compressing the gaps between transmission channels. "The technique increases the density of the transmission channels on fiber, making it around 150 per cent more efficient than today’s typical 100Gbps core network links," they said.   Now if they could combine them...
