          I think the biggest problem here is what version of Exchange is this thing really running?

          The powershell cmdlet clearly states unpatched Exchange 2007 SP3. But Windows update history says it is up to Rollup Update 14..

              That version the Powershell is spitting out is a really weird version number (in OP).

              ^ that link says that Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 SP3 (no RU) is version 8.3.083.6
              Which your log file dump also says that it is
