Problem attempting to patch Exchange 2007 (SBS2008)
-
I have a client with an on site SBS server for which I am attempting to get all the components updated.
Windows Updates are complete and Exchange was patch to SP3 a year or so ago.
The problem I am having is a failure to apply Rollup Update 17. I checked the Exchange version, and it sure looks like it is raw SP3.
So I thought I would download Rollup Update 1 but it appears to be saying it is 14?
Looking at installed updates, this would explain it. Up until 14, seems to apready be applied?
Going to download 15 now and try that then.

The error log is 220,000 rows. not going to dump it in here..
But here are a few bits.

No joy..
-
I think the biggest problem here is what version of Exchange is this thing really running?
The powershell cmdlet clearly states unpatched Exchange 2007 SP3. But Windows update history says it is up to Rollup Update 14..
-
This might sound daft but did you "Run As" Administrator?
-
That version the Powershell is spitting out is a really weird version number (in OP).

^ that link says that Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 SP3 (no RU) is version 8.3.083.6

Have you seen this: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2784788 ?

Did you reboot before attempting to install the RU?

No, and that is not it after searching more carefully.
