What Are You Doing Right Now

Sitting out front of my dad's house relaxing after playing Ingress all afternoon. Walked for about 3 hours doing it.
Just learned what that was last night from my houseguests, by coincidence.

Got back from Morocco last night. Had a good time. Spent way too much money. Had my ATM card compromised by a skimmer at the Gare Fes. But we are home safe and sound.
-
@scottalanmiller Owch owch owch. Hopefully you got it recovered before they cleaned you out!
-
Yup, it was in Morocco so as @dominica had guessed (we think) they were not using WiFi to get the data off but were collecting manually so we had a few hours. The bank account was NOT told to allow use in Africa so would likely have locked with any more usage and our daily transfer limit was already nearly done (we are capped at $400 and had done about $205 already) and we had moved nearly all of the money in the account into a savings account that is not tied to the card. So the total potential damage was limited.
Had no phone or Internet access but were able to text my dad who called the local bank in New York, told them what happened in the middle of the night and they shut off the card before we were to the next city. So the window for someone to take money was tiny.
We checked the account this morning and they didn't get anything. So we lucked out AND got the authentic Moroccan experience of having an ATM panic and having to shut off our cards.

Overall, Morocco was much safer and less worrisome than we have heard that it used to be. They have "tourist military" that work directly for the crown and patrol tourist areas looking for scammers and stuff. We saw a guy try to scam us on a train and take quick flight when a military patrol stationed itself outside of our train cabin. Conductors and military were always keeping an eye out for us, not for safety like physical danger, but to keep us safe from people trying to harass us for money or to buy things from them or whatever.
At no point did we ever feel that we were in danger. The scariest thing that almost happened was that we almost missed a train which, in turn, would have meant missed a ferry. But customer service at the Gare Fes took care of us there too.

Got to work late because my car was broken into last night. They got my GPS (well, my Garmin...they left the Tom Tom) and my iPod. They didn't bother with the monitors, printers, and server I had in the backseat, so I'm figuring idiots with a crowbar...
-
I wasn't the only one on the street either who had their vehicle broken into.
-
That's a crappy way to start the day.
-
Second Monday's suck.
@scottalanmiller Glad you got back safe and without any additional incidents.
@handsofqwerty That also stinks. Thing about GPS units, is they will go after the set favorites, case them, and determine if there is a larger 'haul' over the car. Why you should never tag your HOME or Family locations as they could be targeted.
-
That really sucks.
But you left servers in your back seat!? -

But you left servers in your back seat!?Good question
My back has been bothering me and a Poweredge is not exactly a light device to carry up a flight of stairs. Combine that with the fact I hope I won't be in this apartment much longer and I don't think there will be a need.
-
@handsofqwerty If you want somebody to help you get it out of your car, you can always drive it over to my house. I'll be glad to take it out of your car (and put it underneath my desk at home).

I'm getting ready to head out to SecureWorld 2015 in Atlanta. Anybody else sneaking out for a trip?

I recommend a big one.
I counter that with:
Buy one that fits/suits the room. No point in buying a 70" TV when you are going to sit a metre away from it. You won't get a good viewing experience out of it.
Also, you don't want it to look out of place in the room.
