Power out for nearly an hour now. This is the first that we've had it be over two minutes. This sucks.

Feel for Nepal, I was speaking to someone who grew up there and he told me that they have rolling brown outs. Not 100% sure of the length but I remember that it was long enough to regret not charging your iPhone when it was at 60%.

Took my girls with me for my morning constitutional. Did a couple of miles on the steep grades around town and out on the GR7. Stopped at the market on the way back to pick up yogur and Magdalenas, which they love.

Handy that you know that the power has returned because the church bells start again. So you can be anywhere in the region and know that the power has returned.

Have fun and drive safe. Is there a point that you can park and take public transit?... or is that impractical?

Thank you! Yeah we are parking in Crohton Harmon which is like an hour from the city and then taking the train in.

Day is only about 3 hours in here,..

Reading local news, water has been such an issue here.. We have a bit much,.. mud slides closing roads, taking out homes and a church. And we are expecting rain the next three days.

I'm lucky enough that we are on 'high' ground. but I think we are looking at about 7inches total accumulation this month so far.

The place I may be taking a Job at is using Raid 5 in two or three NAS devices. Granted it's utilitarian storage for things like IT installs/software that don't need to be one the multiple EMC Sans they have.

Doesn't look like it based on time stamps. But CMs make odd choices anymore.

Working on an older whitebox server that was here before I got here. It was randomly rebooting so it has been sitting in our rack doing nothing for the last couple of years... not a bad little box, two 128GB SSDs in RAID 1 and two 2TB HDDs in RAID 1. Plus 16 cores and 32 GB of RAM.

Mostly training and researching. the planned firewall is a bust due to hardware issues. pfSense wont run on it it would seem. I know I can fall back to a Ubiqiti Router,.. but I was hoping to use pfSense.
