240U that at least 6 racks of gear. What do you do with the workloads running on it? Are shutting everything down during the move?
Are all the equipment in the racks getting pulled out and then rewired in the new location or are you moving complete racks?

preparing to move colo's about 240U worthReally hope you're wrapping up the current racks and moving them as units. Our Colo space is an 8x8 cage, so we built it out at the office and had it moved. Unracking 240U is INSANE.

@Pete-S all equipment was shutdown prior to us coming in. The customer simply needed muscle.
3 of the 12 racks are getting moved, but it was all unracked as some pieces were changing were they live.
Got it all completed by 1pm.

We unracked and packed all moving equipment, as some of it was moving into colo while the rest was moving to new client facilities.
The biggest challenge was the rails from the early 2000's with their rather poor design, removing them was the most difficult.

Hacking up a browser and old Flash plugin so one of my techs can access ancient hardware that uses flash.
Avant browser (http://www.avantbrowser.com/) is good for this. We've had to use it a few times at my day job. Fair warning: The 90's called and wants their web site back.

Should be. I've been running this version for a while in a couple places and it is much snappier. or at least feels that way.

Should be. I've been running this version for a while in a couple places and it is much snappier. or at least feels that way.
Well we went from six cores to two, and 16GB to 4GB so it wouldn't necessarily get faster. But it feels faster.
