What services/app have you used, and did you like it?
Let me explain better.
Today's task is to find a simple user interface to allow sms through a voip provider.
I prefer two way sms'ing, but it is not mandatory.Oh, that's SO easy. Just use Textable.
why pay for a service when he can do it via email?
Assuming that you always can, and you can't. So if you are okay with "sometimes", then yes.

We pair it with Skyetel around here.

Is it really that expensive? Even at $199.99/month that doesn't sound unrealistic compared to the cost of having to pay someone to do this by hand.

Right - I'm confused what Scott means by pairing it with Skyetel? to what end? The prices on Textable all say include 1 number or more

You still pay for your SMS usage
In that case - Assuming all of your customers are on carriers that have an email to SMS gateway - you can do this completely free through email.
Now to discover that, you'll have to do some work - find what carriers are in use by your customers, then check for a gateway... that could be time consuming.. but hey - could really pay off with a free solution.
