Best Backup Solution for 2019

Hi,
I'm looking for a backup solution and wanted to check what are the options for 2019?
We will be backing up File Servers VM’s (2TB -3TB). Due to bandwidth limitations, I’m hoping to have offline backup and with an option to backup online when needed. -
Best is subjective at best. No pun intended.
What requirements do you have? Obviously you support VM's, but what do those VM's do, websites, file servers, do you need CBT, what kind of retention do you require, how many and how often do you want to backup?
Do you have an offsite location you own, or are you wanting to rent space from someone like Backblaze etc?

Rentention period and how many backups do you want to keep, do you need file level restore functionality or would restoring the entire share be sufficient?

That's a speculative answer at best.

So what we know* at this point is this.
File Servers with 2-3TB of storage, hosted as Virtual Machines, requiring both onsite and remote backup support. With a backup schedule of daily.
That still isn't a lot to go on but at least allows people to give you options of software.
What are you using today, and are there any pain points from it?

Why would you want to backup File Server VM ? you mean you want to take BU of the files? cause you can make the file server install in like 5 mins, but you cant make the files back.
If so use 7z.exe command line on Windows or Tar and rsync on Linux and rclone for cloud.

I don't think he cares so much about the host environment as much as he cares about the files themselves, but it isn't our decision to make that assessment in either case.
He may have extremely complex ACLs that he would want to avoid recreating, among other possibilities.

@Emad-R probably because at that size it doesn't matter if you're backing up just files or entire VM, the difference is probably within 2-3%. And restoring entire VM is much simpler task than installing new server, configuring it, and restoring TBs of files.
I'd like to see a Windows server that installs in 5 minutes. With Linux and configuration management tools you might be able to get it running in such a short amount of time, but if he runs Windows, forget about 5 mins, 50 is more likely.

Just patching Windows Server would take at least 50 minutes, ignoring just installing Windows.

But yeah, at 2-3TB of files, you're looking at maybe 100GB for a Windows Server C partition. Hardly worth not including that and having that restore path as an option.

Right, and with only that info, SCDPM does it best. That's from experience. But as said, that's without any other considerations taken.

There is simply not a better more efficient, easy to restore solution I have tested. I tried all the big hitters, and the major FOSS solutions, in a crazy environment. It just works. I could back up a 20TB server every 15 minutes without breaking a sweat and barely using any space. File level browsing of any backup, insanely quick restores of files, shares, servers, VMs. All the sweet stuff, yes even including tape and cloud backups and restore aspects. There's just way too much to be said about it and I'm not even denting it.
The issue is cost and expertise in doing it correctly. Other than that it by far blows everything else straight out of the water.

Does that work without Hyper-V or Windows? If not, were they mentioned? I didn't see any platform information at all.
