It is the standard way for orgs that dont go all in O365/Azure
You get O365 cloud services, but can manage it from your local AD setup. -

no, it's only hybrid if AD is both on AND off premises. Where email is does not affect the hybridization of AD.

I prefer living, so I'm just boring... although around here, I fear for my life enough anytime I get into the car as it is.

If I'm being honest, I'm trying to save some gas money, $7000-8000/yr to drive around in a truck is unsustainable.
$1.40/liter * 3.785 = $5.30/gal/CAD = $4.07/gal/USD
and that's down from peak summer costs!
