Morning all. Just now getting to coffee. reading ML and a few other sites while the coffee is still hot and before I have to start tickets and the usual stuff
Coffee brewing here, now, too.
-
Getting my first eye exam in a decade today. Figure it is time as my old glasses have cracked and are about to fall apart.
-
@scottalanmiller I need to do the same thing. Haven't had my eyes checked in probably 2 years now. I have good vision, but have an astigmatism in both eyes. Haven't had glasses in about a year.

What's with all the spammers today?

Technically, It's not breaking any law because I opted to do so, So I dont lose hours : have to take my son to school on the days we don't have a grandparent available and on those days, My lunch break is from 8-9

Because I am still an "Hourly" employee, It's the only way to insure I still get a full pay check til they decide I can go on salary.

It's illegal in NYS to not take 30 minutes after 6 hours of continuous work (your choice or not).

Opting to do so is illegal. If it were optional to violate break or minimum wage laws, they wouldn't be laws. It's that they are not optional that makes them laws.

It's because you are hourly that you don't have the option to opt out.

Really?
SO By deciding to eat through my work ( Which by the way I had to do as a gas station clerk in this same state making literal minimum wage for over 2 years) I am breaking a law? Great to know!Oh And Just so everyone is Clear on this : This is not my EMPLOYER this is me, doing whats best for me and my family.

Even though It's not my Employer? Even though this was a based decision solely on the well being of my family?
Making sure I can do all the things I need to do?
This was 100 % my decision and you guys are telling me how " Illegal " It is. For me to decide to eat through my lunch a few days a week. If it had been my employer telling me this is what is expected i would believe you.
However Nebraska State law says the "Employee's can waive Lunch breaks at will"- That's how Gas stations get a way with no breaks.
