The Japanese public school year runs from April to March.

The first trimester is April to Mid July.
          6 weeks for Summer
Second trimester is September to December 25/26ish
          2-3 weeks for New Years
Third trimester from early-mid January to mid March
2 weeks until new school year.

@jaredbusch Alright nice. I like how they have decent breaks in between the trimesters. I imagine their schools are harder than ours too so they are probably getting more ahead than they already are.

@jaredbusch Now that is cool. So many holidays, its great. I would go then to see the GT race it mentioned. Not to mention its probably a good time of year to see the sights anyway. I would go and not want to come back.

I would never recommend someone go to Japan during golden week. Everything is packed because the entire country is off work.

Go in late/march early april for Cherry blossoms or wait until September when the summer heat cools down a few degrees.

@jaredbusch Oh ok thanks then. I would have made that mistake lol. It would be great to go see all the cherry blossoms though. We have always wanted to go.

Too bad I'm going to be gone this weekend. We could've gotten coffee or a beer.

About to leave the office for the day, then it's off to the luthier's shop to get my new guitar pickups installed. The rest of the weekend will involve exterminating the rabbits that have been eating my tomatoes. Stay tuned for pics of some homemade rabbit stew.

Migrate our test ERP environment into production. Saturday morning, flip handheld scanners and terminal stations to the new environment. Migrate the changed data. Monday morning, arrive on site at 0500 local time. Its going to be a really short weekend.

                                        • Plenty around the house to do, and might try to spend some time on the radio - it'll be near 94degF the next several days.

Vacation starts at 8Pm ET!! Last weekend was my 3 year old big birthday party so I missed out on Field Day (the amateur radio operators will understand) so this weekend a few of my other radio buddies are doing a ham radio "catch up". Then , going to the beach with the kids!
