@obsolesce what would you use it for?

Personally? All kinds of like around the house info boxes. Bathroom info board, anyone?

In the real world? Industrial desktops on factory floors.

working out a new visitation schedule for my public service support contract. i've never felt more overlooked, under appreciated, ignored and taken for granted than I have in any other IT contract i've had in 30 years.
what did barney say ... "don't feel sorry for me, i'm already dead" ...
but hey it's winter day 1 and the sun is out.
what did monty python say ... "always look on the bright side of life".
i think alcohol might come into play tonight.

            By management, or a vendor?

management, although there is so little management that is done, I call them arrangers.

Perfect for Linux and web browser based use at the office. Beats paying Win10 enterprise subscriptions for no real reason.

And a 5 year warranty? All for a couple hundred total?

                        Definitely worth a consideration.

Nice, although the data doesn't flow through them, so having a local pop only does so much, it's just a controller node.

Oh, OK. Hey it's good though because at least we're 'part' of the system, you never know what will come next.
so much to learn here. 🙂

Thinking about the plan for today while on the train.

                                My list so far

                                • Sort new snipe VM

                                • Move a few VM around

                                • Create new XenApp VM

                                • Work on proposals for hardware review
                                  Got 4 to go through
2x 3-2-1 designs one with Nimble SAN and one with NetAPP
1x Hosted SaaS (but way to expensive)
                                  1x Scale Cluster

                                • Work on network config to go with hardware refresh upgrading to 10g links between switches and server/storage

Decided to go Hyper-V and give it another go for a production server to run Linux VM's (zabbix/snipe/unifi etc)

But how to "migrate" the servers off Xenserver 7.2 onto Hyper-V (for FREE 🙂 )

Gonna stage POS's in two sites.
Wait for the vendor to setup & the VASC to install.
                                          Have a nice weekend!

Are you using their update script or just pulling from git? I use their script and have it setup to be called from a simple bash file so I can update from ~ or anywhere really.

SSH in, run it, and then see if there are any OS updates.
