@scottalanmiller are you running a pi for PiHole or a vm?
Mine is a VM. If I did not have a KVM server in the house, I would run it on a pi.
-
Switched my stuff over. Was using OpenDNS servers but it was slow.
-
I use OpenDNS for basic dns content filtering for my house. Does this do basic filtering as well?

I've always hated this.

Specifically no. It is not their job.
-
@jaredbusch What do you use for content filtering at your house?

Pi-Hole

Pi-Hole
So Pi-hole does both ad blocking, and for example, "adult" sites?

Parental oversight.
I recently (December 2017) added a pihole, but that is for ad blocking. I added a porn list for testing prior to implementing at a client last month (March 2018).

No, doesn't block adult sites. Not looking for anything like that at home.
I'm sure you can configure it to do that with an add on or a setting (or manually, of course) but I'm just looking for blocking malicious stuff.

Agree 100 % However, I'd like to also protect my 7 year old on his ipad, from accidentally going somewhere he shouldnt. He only goes where we tell him he can, but I'd like that extra layer of protection.

Haven't found a porn blocker yet that stops https://scrolller.com/nsfw

You know about so many more sites than I do, lol.

I have better (worse?) users than you?
-
Also it is fun to browse the other categories.

Oh, these aren't the ones you are using?

Me? Yes. But no, that is not how I found out about it. That is courtesy of a user and the /nsfw directory.
-
OK, new project tomorrow. Install Pi-hole finally.
-
@jaredbusch on, there is a SFW portion, now I get it.
Cool.

And it is not as simple as a regex or something on
/nsfw
. Because you can click on an image to get to the images tagged as the image you click on.For example this picture is on
/animals
But if I click that title, the URL changes to https://scrolller.com/r/tuckedinkitties
Which is nothing but
Now imagine trying to fight that in the
/nsfw
section..
