Tech conference in Wisconsin
-
I have been using CCB for years.
They are a great VAR.
Their Tech Showcase is not any different than any other vendor conference.
This year will be the first year that I will attend.
-
The sponsors for that conference. . . only a few are worth their weight.
But GoodWill as a tech sponsor?!

Goodwill has a tech store nestled in Tyler Texas where they sell switches, computers, and other equipment.

But they aren't a tech company. They sell used items. lol

That is a pretty run of the mill list of vendors, minus GoodWill.
That said CCB was founded as a company that sold MS licensing to Non-Profits. Their name used to be Consistent Computer Bargains.
It is only the last 5ish years that they have changed to a full flegged VAR for the masses.

TechSoup is a non-profit. CCB is not. But CCB helped start the entire non-profit pricing program from MS.

Sounds like there needs to be an ML meetup.

With an MC shirt on!

Half hour for me. This will be the 2nd year I'll attend. I usually just go for the food
I did get some really good info and help from Veeam and SonicWall last year. Everyone else was kind of sales oriented.

Right. It is a vendor driven day, so that is totally to be expected.

The agenda has been posted. Not sure I see anything that says "DUDE! I GOTTA GO SEE THAT!"
EDIT: Although that could be because of how much crap I have on my plate and not open minded right now.

It rarely is in conferences. Very hard to make an agenda that sells things and pays for a conference, while having technical info good enough for IT folks to care.

Then take a day off and chill the fuck out. it helps all kinds of things.
