Solved Prevent Specific Key Combo Pass-through in QEMU/KVM virt-manager
-
When I'm in fullscreen mode on a VM in qemu/kvm using virt-manager, it automatically passes-through all keyboard commands to the VM.
Is there a way to configure it to prevent the pass-through of specific key commands?
Specifically, I do not want to pass-through CTRL+ALT+Left (or Right).
Google searches are not bringing up the right issue...

I assume you don't want to pass ctrl+alt+delete to avoid accidentally restarting the VM, correct?
I would just disable the keycombo in the VM.

@Tim_G
Virtual Machine Manager > Edit > Preferences > Console > Force console shortcuts ?

You assume wrong.
CTRL + ALT + Left Arrow ( or Right Arrow)
is the default key combo on Korora Cinnamon to switch workspaces. Probably similar on other desktop environments.

That had no effect.

Yes, this is why.
Switching to a different workspace while in a fullscreen VM would be awesome without having to go out of fullscreen mode first.

Here I have the opposite problem. Virt-Manager doesn't want to show the little menu bar when I press
ctrl+alt+f
Getting back to the main host (my laptop in this case), is really a hit and miss affair! -

Switching between workspaces on Gnome 3 works.
Super + Page UP or Super + Page Down -
While annoying, if you just hover over the toggle it will work. I hardly ever do full screen so I've not encountered this.

For some reason I never seen this response. This does the trick! Thanks!
