Not sure how I feel about this.

Does it really matter? We can't buy anything from Lenovo, even if they invented the cure to cancer, would you trust them enough to buy it?

Nope, cure cancer but steal your soul.

You're right... but providing this isn't vapor/malware this could be a serious contender. The big problem will be software.

Serious contender for what? Beyond Lenovo being scary and untrustable... they've never made anything actually good anyway. No way they are going to start now.

Lenovo buys good things, then apparently turns them to crap!

Well, they buy IBM stuff, but only the cast offs that IBM felt wasn't very good. What good stuff does Lenovo buy?

Most companies do this, with scale means streamlining production and other expenses. Most people need "good enough" not top of the line.

Isn't their scale smaller after buying, though?

Size of the business, not the number of transactions.

And while you didn't like IBM x86/x64 server I rarely ever had a problem with them.

They weren't bad, they just weren't up to the competition. If Dell and HPE didn't exist, IBM would have been fine. But they did, so the IBM were too expensive and not quite good enough. Remember, even IBM wouldn't buy them internally.

                                      @Dashrender I played EverQuest for 10 years.

I did not go a full 10 years in a row, but after a couple years off, I got heavy into the EQ emulator scene, to the point of developing for it for a couple years.

Loved EQ1 a ton, but EQ2 at release was a great game. Interdependence between crafters and adventurers with consequences to character decisions.

Sadly they bowed to pressure and over simplified the play to match WoW.

Playing Age of Empires 2 online.

Got your stream off on another monitor.

I was wondering who was watching me 🙂 How was it?

It was good. I clocked out right as you reached the last age. Someone really likes building a navy....

He was about to come and clobber me with it, lol.

Hah, I'll have to jump in next time. I'm not the greatest RTS player though much prefer to go against an AI.

yeah, that's how I often played.. but 3 on 3 humans RTS was often fun too.

RTS with humans is the best, even when you lose. It's just fun knowing that it is real people and getting to be on a team with real people.

I love RTS with human teams. Back in 1998 I had setup my own NT4 server in the house with 2 56k dial up modems sharing bandwidth. My roommate and I had computers next to each other and just owned everyone that was not a ladder rank player in StarCraft.
