Raising the floor would buy us time, but the water rose at over an inch a minute. So it would not buy us much.

Yeah, it was crazy being out there in the deluge. Some of the heaviest rain I've ever had. I was blind from the amount of water in my eyes. WIth the six inches of water on the ground it was a bit like swimming!
