Also there's apparently server issues in Au (haven't tried this morning), so currently my score for the game is 3/10.

They're just having server issues period. Don't think anyone thought it would be so popular so quickly.

Nostalgia... the unexpected assassin of bandwidth and servers

I've caught two Pokemon so far but haven't been able to walk around my town to see if there is a store.

Family is reporting a lot of server issues here in the US.

It's been hit and miss. I generally can reliably get on at 2-4 in the morning.

Well, this is a bit concerning. (regarding iOS version)
              https://techcrunch.com/2016/07/11/pokemon-go-shouldnt-have-full-access-to-your-gmail-docs-and-google-account-but-it-does/?

When you use Google to sign into Pokémon Go, as so many of you have already, the popular game for some reason grants itself (for some iOS users, anyway) the highest possible level of access to your Google account, meaning it can read your email, location history… pretty much everything.

              Google describes it thusly:

When you grant full account access, the application can see and modify nearly all information in your Google Account (but it can’t change your password, delete your account, or pay with Google Wallet on your behalf).
This “Full account access” privilege should only be granted to applications you fully trust, and which are installed on your personal computer, phone, or tablet.

I think I'll be killing my account and using a Trainer account (? I think that's what their called)

Yeah, it's why they've delayed the official release in many places...but people are downloading it anyway in those areas through work-arounds etc, which only compounds the issue!

Turns out you can go into the settings for a Google account, revoke those permissions, and the app still works. Don't know about iOS.

Not worth trying for multiple reasons. That alone should be enough to give it up as a bad joke.
I did have another go with it today but that access level doesn't sit well with me and it's horribly inconvenient when the only time I have for it is after the kids are in bed (and the dishes are done). Traipsing around the streets in the cold and dark on a WiFi iPad isn't my idea of fun.

I tend to avoid those bandwagons. If everyone's doing it, it's normally pretty boring.

It's also hard for bands to play while the wagon is moving around.

Better than a bandwagon, my dad operates a sofa wagon. It's an old school hay wagon (circa 1950s) with huge old comfy furniture bolted to it that he pulls around with a classic Alice Chalmers narrow front farm tractor.

I'm playing Pokemon Go in the middle lane of 390 as I try to cross 4 lanes of traffic at 65-75 MPH...

                                  Wish me luck...

I'm playing Pokemon Go in the middle lane of 390 as I try to cross 4 lanes of traffic at 65-75 MPH...

@wirestyle22 Not sure, still on lane 1 (cross the street not down the block) and there are a lot of cars all crashing around me.

                                          Police seem kind of pissed...

Pokemon Go just pushed the Google account "scope" issue patch.
