The entire concept and stupid. There is no one thing that is always best ever. Best will always depend on the workload. Or in the case of whiskey personal preference to taste.

Workload, support, cost, features, familiarity, etc. So many factors, and most (in the case of hypervisors) will do the trick even if you pick the worst one.

Huh, I thought Jack was the best selling whiskey.

Does that even qualify as whiskey? 😉

@aaron In the US it may be, but globally Glenfiddich beats it out by a huge margin.

And I think that Jim Beam only loses because it splits the brand up so much. Overall I think it is the volume leader.

there will always be pros and cons to every drink/program/xyz, it just depends what is best for you in your current situation (to echo other people)

Jack isn't a whisky technically and it's not a "whiskey" for sure ;))

Me: Jim Beam's my favourite bourbon
ML: Why? There are better bourbons, and cheaper bourbons. Why would you stick with something that is worse and more expensive?
Me: I'm not saying Jim Beam is the best. I haven't tried other bourbons to compare. I just like it. I'm happy with it. And I can't be bothered to seek out better bourbons. I'm not interested enough in bourbon to spend time trying something else.
ML: You only buy Jim Beam because they have a bigger marketing budget than the others. You're an idiot.
Me: I just love Jim Beam is all! Leave me alone.

                      Me: ESXi's my favourite hypervisor

Knob Creek is my favorite. Single Barrel will hit you kind of hard (both in the wallet and while drinking).

Not really. He's got a good summary of "why ESXi is his favourite" which he's said before and makes sense. That's very different from him telling everyone that the other three are stupid and have no support and only fools with failing businesses wouldn't pay for ESXi without any actual reasons for it.

Saying that it is his favourite and telling everyone else that they should only consider it are very different things. On SW it is the later.
